Gunshine are kicking off 2026 with confidence and attitude, unveiling their new single “Goth Girl” as the first taste of what’s to come on their upcoming full-length album Grand Rising, due out digitally July 24 via Create Music Group.
“Goth Girl” hits fast and sticks hard. It’s a hook-heavy, swagger-filled track that blends melody, edge, and just the right amount of danger. It’s playful without being gimmicky, gritty without losing its shine, and showcases exactly why Gunshine continue to stand out in a crowded rock landscape. The song also features a collaboration with acclaimed songwriter and producer Brian Howes, whose touch adds polish while still letting the band’s personality lead the way.
Austin Ingerman comments,
“It started with several vocal melodies and a riff I had, then Jordan had a lyrical concept about a goth girl. We then collaborated with Brian Howes, and he loved it and we finished the rest of the song in Vancouver, Canada with him. It was the first time we finished writing something on the spot just before tracking it, but that spontaneity brought out some magic. We recorded the basic tracks at The Armoury (where ACDC’s razor’s edge was recorded, Bon Jovi’s slippery when wet, etc), and finished all the rest at his home studio (built by Mutt Lange’s studio builder) on Vancouver Island. I came up with the breakdown on the spot while tracking at The Armoury. It was a cool unexpected left turn that shouldn’t work but does.“

While the digital release of Grand Rising lands later this summer, fans won’t have to wait long to get their hands on physical copies. CDs and double-vinyl editions will be available starting next week, alongside exclusive Gunshine merch, both online and at upcoming live shows, a move that feels perfectly aligned with a band built for real world connection and sweaty, high energy rooms.
Hailing from Pensacola, Florida, Gunshine have carved out their reputation through infectious vocal melodies, clever lyrics, blistering guitar work, and a rhythm section that hits with purpose. Their sound walks the line between raw rock ’n’ roll attitude and pop-forward accessibility, delivering songs that feel just as good blasting through speakers as they do shouted back from the crowd.
With Grand Rising, Gunshine push themselves even further. The album promises a dynamic, genre-bending ride packed with shifting moods, unexpected textures, and bold creative choices, without ever losing the core elements that define their sound. Featuring 13 tracks, each strong enough to stand on its own, Grand Rising feels like a statement record from a band hitting a new stride.
