December 15, 2014

Blue October have just announced dates for the Fear Tour set for Spring 2015. The tour is set to start on April 8th at the Orpheum Theater in Flagstaff, Arizona and will wrap up on May 16th at Stubbs in Austin, Texas. Tickets will be going on sale December 16th but you can head over to http://blueoctober.com/site/presale-tickets/  and pick up your pre-sale tickets. Tour dates are listed below:   There is no doubt that once again Blue October will be delivering an incredible set out on the tour. Earlier this year, they blew us away for the SWAY Tour as it made a stop at  the Ace of Spades in Sacramento.  Every time I leave a Blue October concert, I catch myself saying the exact same thing… I never thought they could exceed how excellent they were at their last performance and every time, they prove me wrong. One thing I love about Blue October is the fans, there is no cookie cutter fan. Blue October‘s music extends across genres, generations and cultures. You will find a [Read More]

Blue October SWAY concert review by guest contributor by Mark Iman

November 19, 2014

by Guest Contributor Mark Iman, MarkImanConcertReview.blogspot.com November 12, 2014 kicked off the final installment of touring for Blue October’s most recent album, SWAY, at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland. Starting the evening off was Harvard Of The South, a side project created by Blue Octobers Justin Furstenfeld, Matt Noveskey, Jeremy Furstenfeld and longtime collaborator and friend Steve Schiltz of Hurricane Bells and Longwave.  The band recently released a 5 song EP titled Miracle and is currently available at the shows. I made sure to grab my copy and have a hard time switching to anything else. It has a great old school grunge feel only with less teenage angst.  As I heard someone in the crowd state “Imagine if Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and Smashing Pumpkins had an illegitimate love child, this would be it.” Being that all the bands listed are a staple in music history I see no better way to compliment them and look forward to hearing more music in the future. The show started with a brief video telling everyone about the [Read More]

The CD features songs and stories from his Open Book Tour and was released today.  We went to one of his shows on his Open Book Tour last year and it was one of the most amazing shows I have ever been to. The spirit in that room was soul touching and the intimate atmosphere allowed Justin to completely connect to the audience through his words and music. Check out our coverage from his Open Book Tour.  You can check out a preview from his CD here:   The CD can be purchased on iTunes here or through his merch site here which includes some really cool bundles. In addition Justin will be heading out on his Open Book Tour starting on September 4th at Rockin Rodeo in Denton, TX.  I highly recommend getting yourself to one of the dates and get your tickets early, because they will sell out!   We are hoping to catch [Read More]

BLUE OCTOBER at The Altar Bar, May 14, 2014 by guest contributor Mark Iman

May 24, 2014

BLUE OCTOBER The ALTAR BAR 5-14-14  PITTSBURGH, PA by Guest Contributor Mark Iman, MarkImanConcertReview.blogspot.com Sway the seventh studio album from the Texas based band Blue October, which started out as a crowd funded project via PledgeMusic, raised over two hundred percent of their goal over the course of the campaign. Truly showing that, the fans really do make the band. Since the first time I saw them in New York, I have had the pleasure of following Blue October for the last three years. In that time I have gone from learning their music, to becoming friends with some of the most amazing people, and interacting with members of the band. It didn’t take long to see why WE consider each other family and not just fans. The same faces can be seen at multiple shows on any given leg of a tour.  Fans have been known to carpool, camp out, and stay with fellow members of the Blue October Community. Lining up as early as 7a.m. (I know for a fact because I was with [Read More]

Blue October reawakens your soul with their spectacular performance on the SWAY Tour

April 1, 2014

Last night was pretty much the highlight for me of 2014! We went out to see Blue October at the Ace of Spades, as they have begun another leg of the SWAY tour. I caught them last year as they put on a spectacular performance in San Francisco.  Every time I leave a Blue October concert, I catch myself saying the exact same thing… I never thought they could exceed how excellent they were at their last performance and every time, they prove me wrong. They hit it out of the ballpark each and every time. Last night was another one of those unbelievable sets. We arrived to a packed house on a Monday night at the Ace of Spades. One thing I love about Blue October fans, is there is no cookie cutter fan. Blue October‘s music extends across genres, generations and cultures. The room was filled with a diverse passionate crowd that comes together for the pure love of Blue October‘s music.  Many fans who have never met, were soon sharing their Blue [Read More]
