Blue October SWAY tour lights it up at the Fillmore in San Francisco

October 10, 2013

One of the tours that I have been most excited about this year is the Blue October SWAY tour and last night it was San Francisco’s turn to enjoy the show.  Well, I have to say Congratulations Blue October, you truly hit out of the ballpark last night.  It was amazing in so many ways. Their were two opening bands and both were spectacular. First you were treated to Tori Vasquez and her band. We had the pleasure of seeing her perform on Justin’s Open Book Tour and last night she played with her band. They were spot on and the crowd was really enjoying them. We have more about Tori Vasquez here. Next up, were The Unlikely Candidates from Keller, Texas and these five guys came out with full energy and an incredible set. You can read more about their performance on our post here. Then, Blue October took the stage and it was as if all was right in the world as I looked over to the right and saw C.B. Hudson. It was [Read More]

Most anticipated CD Release, Sway by Blue October

July 25, 2013

With less than a month away, I am having a hard time containing my excitement for what is my most anticipated album release. Their seventh studio album “Sway” by Blue October is set to release on August 20th and it is definitely one I have been anxiously waiting for.  I have been a long time lover of Blue October and their emotionally driven music that truly has a life of its own. Their music has been there for me in my darkest times as well as my most celebrated moments. They are like that true friend that is always there for you; whether it is to ride out the storms or admire the beauty of the rainbows.  You can’t call us fans of their music, because once you fall in love with their music, you become a family.  I can’t tell you how  many times I have heard from people about how Blue October changed their lives, helped them through their deepest struggles, kept them going and inspired them to be a better person.  I [Read More]

Time for An Evening with Justin Furstenfeld of Blue October

January 17, 2013

One of my favorite singers has just announced his solo tour to highlight the release of the third edition of his book! Yes, Justin Furstenfeld of Blue October has just announced dates for his solo tour titled, “An Open Book” An Evening with Justin Furstenfeld of Blue October.  This coincides with release of the expanded 3rd edition of his book of lyrics and writings dubbed “Crazy Making” due out on April 1, 2013. These shows sound like they are going to be a lot fun and insightful as to the writings of Justin. Included with spoken word by Justin, there will be a Q & A session, and acoustic songs. You can also buy one of the very limited meet and greets with Justin and sit in on his sound check. As soon as I got the email, I got our tickets to the Santa Ana show at the Observatory on April 5, 2013. This should be perfect timing for Ryan to finish the vest that he made for Justin. We saw Blue October just [Read More]

Blue October is at the Peak of Perfection!

November 12, 2012

Saturday night was a perfect one. I got to take my son Ryan to see my  all time favorite and most inspiring band, Blue October. The music of Blue October has personally helped me through some of my hardest times as well as energizing me in my good times. When my father passed away last year, “Into the Ocean” was a song that I played daily after leaving my father’s bedside and it kept me afloat!  I have often said that Blue October has been the rainbow through my storms, the light at the end of the tunnel, and the candle during my darkest hours. Oh, how I appreciate and love their music! Blue October is currently on “the quiet mind tour” and made a stop at The Regency Ballroom in San Francisco, November 10, 2012.  I have been enjoying Blue October for almost 15 years and had the pleasure seeing them almost a dozen times. This concert I would have to declare the Best of the Best of all the times I have seen [Read More]
