November 13, 2015

Earlier this week, John 5 returned to the DNA Lounge as he brought the Mad Monster Tour to San Francisco with Doyle. It was an incredible night for music lovers! The night kicked off with a high energy set by local faves, The Vile Augury. Doyle came out next with a one hour set of new Doyle music and Misfits classics. We will be bringing more from both of those sets later this weekend. We were glad to catch up with John 5 before his set in San Francisco and talk about what is next for him and his busy schedule. Check out our interview here: John 5 and the Creatures hit the stage and the crowd went wild. We were all in awe of John’s extraordinary flawless playing as he demonstated just about every guitar technique you could think of. Jacky Vincent has left Falling In Reverse to concentrate on solo career

October 30, 2015

It has been announced that Jacy Vincent has left Falling In Reverse to further concentrate on his solo career. The post was made on Falling In Reverse Facebook page referencing an article in Alternative Press.  The departure was amicable and we can’t wait wait to see what Jacky has next in store for his very promising future. We featured Jacky a couple years back as one of our 12 Days of Guitarists. Jacky is one of the most awesome shredders out there today. His solo album highlights his amazing guitar playing and his impeccable technique. His solo album Star X Speed Story is amazing and it literally takes you through his high energy, lightning speed shredding. It is one of the top guitar instrumental albums out, right up  there with Steve Vai, Jason Becker, Paul Gilbert and my true favorite; Michael Angelo Batio whom Jacky credits a lot of his guitar playing. Some of my personal faves on the album are Without You, Runaway Tryst, Venom Love, Fatal Envy and of course Maybe I am a Wolf.  [Read More]

Solo Artist Glenn Symmonds premieres new video for Santa Fe

July 22, 2015

“Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”  That quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson has always been a favorite of mine. Solo artist Glenn Symmonds seems to be the perfect example of the quote as he has been making his own path with his music after a lineup change in the Eddie Money Band.  Glenn has not only been an exceptional drummer but he is quite a talented singer, songwriter, and all around musician and has an extensive catalog of his solo work. Glenn recently released a music video for his song, Santa Fe which he explains more about the song, The song was written about a family vacation riding the rails… I’m the son of a hobo after all. The video was shot on location in and around Bloomington, Illinois and specifically at the astounding Vrooman Mansion. The entire experience was absolutely amazing and far beyond my expectations! Thank you to the cast & crew for the time, effort, dedication, hospitality & laughter… [Read More]

Renowned Guitarist Marty Friedman announces “Inferno” tour dates

July 7, 2015

Renowned guitarist Marty Friedman has just announced North American dates for his Inferno Tour. This will be his first tour since 2003 and will take him on a 21 date headlining run. The tour is in support of highly acclaimed solo album, Inferno. Marty comments on the tour, “On the rare occasion that I stop and think I about it, I realize I’ve done an insane thing: I left a successful international band to concentrate my efforts on the domestic music scene of a country thousands of miles from my home. Different culture, different language, different planet. Since I went to Japan, so many Americans have supported me, and while many doubted I would ever play live in my homeland again, now it’s happening. Choosing the setlist and doing prep for this tour has been a blast. Words can not describe how excited I am about finally touring North America!” General admission and VIP packages will go on sale this Friday (10) at 10:00 a.m. local time. For more information, please visit http://martyfriedman.com/. Tour dates are listed below: 9/9 [Read More]
