January 10, 2014

We are pleased to share with you Patrick O’Heffernan’s interview with country star Billy Kay from his Music Friday Live show on musicfriday.nationbuilder.com. INTERVIEW:  COUNTRY STAR BILLY KAY (conducted on air 1.10.14.  download at www.blogtalkradio.com/musicfriday) Of all the country singers – no, of all the singers – we have had on Music Friday Live!, none has a story as interesting as our next guest.  And few write and sing music as well as he does.  And very, very few link their music to their life and their values as tightly as he does.  Billy Kay is a Long Island-born country western singer songwriter who arrived in Tennessee by way of Los Angeles, Las Vegas and the Veterans Administration.  (More on that later.) Billy Kay’s music is solid country –  it tells stories of hurt and joy and women and life while it moves your feet, tickles your brain and stabs your heart.  Whether he is singing about the excitement of being embraced by a beautiful woman or the pain of being left by her,  his songs [Read More]

The first song is the title track, “Alive at Night” and starts right off with their energetic rock, bad ass chorus and amazing guitar work. It is a great anthemic rock song. You also have their single we previously shared with you, “Who Are You?” Bassist Ed Mandevil told us more about the song, “The song is about asking the listener who they really are. There are so many fakes and phoneys out there and we’re a bit tire of it!”  The song has a bad ass bass intro, vocals are edgy yet mysterious, love the backing vocals, great guitar solo [Read More]

From Ashes to New release new video for Stay This Way

January 8, 2014

From Ashes to New is a great group of six talented musicians from Pennsylvania. These guys were each known before for playing in bands in their local scene. Unfortunately, many bands are short lived or members change. Then you seem to be left with the truly faithful musicians who live their passion for music in everything that they do. What is even better, is gathering those musicians to form their own band. They not only bring their years of experience but their variety of musical influences. From Ashes to New is just that, almost a “super group” of sorts. These six guys came together and formed their band and in the short amount of time, are garnering a lot of well deserved attention. They currently have their self titled EP out and available on Itunes here. Who is Froms Ashes to New? You have Matt Brandyberry and Chris Musser on Vocals, Dan Kecki and  Branden “Boo” Kreider on Guitars, Jon-Mikel Valudes on Drums and Garrett Russell on Bass. Ready to check them out?
