An interview with Country Rock artist Josey Milner

December 1, 2013

I have a secret for you. When I was young, there was a time when I was really into country music thanks to the guy I was dating, and I still have a soft spot for country. What I love is that over the years, country has been given a fresh vibrant life as rock n roll seemed to find it’s way in.  Today, there is a young country artist out there that definitely rocks the country music! That artist is the young and talented Josey Milner of Missouri. Josey‘s debut single, Not Pretty Enough not only had the country world taking a serious look at her talent but it also help launch her anti-bullying campaign as a spokesperson for her Angles and Doves. Josey  has recently released her new single, Cowgirls and it is definitely a crowd pleaser! We recently had the opportunity to interview Josey Milner and are pleased to present it to you here: * * * * *  Music Junkie Press: Thank you Josey for taking the time out to talk with us here [Read More]

decoded release new EP Topanga and it is a gift to my ears!

November 30, 2013

I just had the opportunity to listen to the new album by Derek Jordan’s band, decoded.  Decoded has been through  well over a dozen member changes since their 2012 start but through it all frontman Derek Jordan and drummer Heather Miller weathered the changes and came out on top. They recently released their new EP Topanga and it is amazing! Today decoded is Derek Jordan, Heather Miller, Ian McCulloch and Amy Clark. It starts right off with a catchy down n dirty tune, Topanga that has a punk vibe to it. The energy it gives off will have you moving in no time. Some other highlights of the EP is the mesmerizing bass line in Last Night and the jazzy rock style and some sweet ass guitar of Red Handed. Not Easy Being Alone is truly my favorite song, it almost has a 60’s feel to it, psychedelic rock era . The lyrics emotionally draw you in and the vocals of Derek are mysterious yet commanding. He has an amazingly unique voice that I could listen to all day!!!! [Read More]

Time for San Francisco to listen and “All Hail The Yeti”!

November 29, 2013

This week was an awesome one for music!  On Tuesday we went to San Francisco for the Hell Pop Tour 1 with In This Moment, Motionless In White, Kyng and All Hail The Yeti! It was a great night. It was the first time for us seeing All Hail The Yeti and boy they didn’t disappoint for that first time experience. They came straight out and just bled their energy and soul out on that stage. They played songs from their self titled album and the crowd thoroughly loved it! One of my favorite songs is The Art of Mourning and you can check out a tribute video that Rockin Ryan put together with footage and photos from their San Francisco show here:   It is amazing to see that this hard working band,  with lineup changes and starting back in 2006 is finally getting the recognition they so very well deserve. “We’ve managed to prevail through all the bullshit,” says frontman Connor Garritty. “I have seen too many great metal bands die here. We had to [Read More]

Thirsty Thursday spotlight is White Chocolate Thunder from Canada

November 28, 2013

Here we are on another Thursday which means our weekly spotlight on a new band that is thirsty for rock n roll! This week the band is White Chocolate Thunder and they are from Calgary, Alberta Canada. They are four guys who have a great rock/pop/punk feel to them. I hate placing them in a genre or category… so put it this way…. they fucking rock and have great energy and good songs! You have Johnny Molyneaux on Vocals and he reminds me of a young Chris Robinson of Black Crowes. His vocals are awesome. Then you have the fierce Jordan Tavares on Guitar and the energetic Braaeden Riehl on  Bass. Behind it all and bringing it home with solid drumming is Tanner Statham. Check them out in their video for a KICK ASS song, “No Regrets“:   “No Regrets” is off of their new EP, No Pants, Just Dance. which is available at their shows. So if you enjoy your rock with a side of punk attitude you will like White Chocolate Thunder! City of Fallen Kings is going to be an amazing new rock band!

November 28, 2013

It is time to get excited about a great new rock project, City of Fallen Kings.  It will feature three amazing musicians/artists; Brett Hestla, Will Hunt, and Elliott Ecton. These three guys history includes Dark New Day, Evanescence, Device, Signum A.D., Virgos Merlot, Creed, Black Label Society, Skrape, and Methods of Mayhem and many more. So now you know they mean business and they definitely can deliver! They have announced a Kickstarter campaign where you can help send City of Fallen Kings into the studio. I have always been a strong believer in the Kickstarter campaigns where you can directly  help your favorite musicians and become part of the process. In today’s age of music, bands have to take charge on their own t make things happen.  So if you want to keep listening to great new bands and new rock, then you have to be part and support the music scene. What better way than making a pledge and you can get some cook rewards in return. There is a variety of rewards that can fit anyone’s budget [Read More]
