Volbeat photo and video highlights from Aftershock

October 28, 2013

Aftershock Festival was amazing with over 30+ bands in the two days and over 35,000 attendees. Many of those fans were there to see the amazing show that Volbeat put on. I have seen Volbeat five times but this was the first time that I got to see Rob Caggiano play with them. It was an awesome set and they sounded so spot on! They played my favorites Fallen, A Warrior’s Call and my new favorite, Lola Montez. I just love that song soooo much. Check out the video that Rockin Ryan made of “A Warrior’s Call” set to footage and photos from their Aftershock set. One thing is for sure, when Volbeat performs, you really feel the energy from the crowd as well as the band. They create such an intensity that you just can’t help but be drawn to them. It was great to see people who had never seen them before, enjoy the show and called it one of their Festival highlights! Make sure you have your copy of “Outlaw Gentlemen and [Read More]

Louna is cancelled from MTV Documentary Series, “Rebel Music”

October 28, 2013

We have some news to report relating to one of our recent Tuesdays Travels pick, Louna. Also, I must tell you I carry my Louna CD from car to car wherever I go. It is one of my favorite CDs and we have all been rocking out to it since we saw them earlier this month in San Francisco as they played with Heaven’s Basement and The Pretty Reckless. Louna is such an amazing band of talented musicians who not only produce excellent rock n roll and recently were going to be part of the MTV Documentary Series, “Rebel Music”. They were going to have a worldwide platform to share their music and what they stand for.  One thing is for sure, this band is so deserving of the feature and they are incredibly talented and deserve to be heard but unfortunately, that will not be so. It was reported today that Louna’s Inclusion in Forthcoming MTV Documentary Series “Rebel Music” Cancelled by Viacom Due to International Pressure from Russia.  We wanted to share with you [Read More]

Interview with Raz Klinghoffer of EarlyRise

October 28, 2013

Earlier this month, we brought to you an interview with Ben Draiman, younger brother of David Draiman of Disturbed and Device. During that interview Ben credited Raz Klinghoffer of EarlyRise and how he gave him great advice with his spectacular cover of Disturbed’s “Stricken”. You can read that interview here: Raz Klinghoffer definitely knows how to do a cover song and make it magical. Raz and his band EarlyRise took Korn’s “Narcissistic Cannibal” and made an incredibly powerful version that is literally breathtaking. Orly Lari’s vocals remind me of a cross between Haley Williams and Cristina Scabbia, two amazing female artists. You can check out the song here: EarlyRise currently has their debut album, “What If” out and is filled with dynamic songs that bring such depth to their music as they have succeeded in what they set out to do, “set out on a unique journey, mixing the poetic side of music with the edgier side of rock”. It is definitely a CD to treasure, complete with emotionally driven lyrics, energetic melodies, and much more [Read More]

Fiona Kernaghan singer songwriter extraordinaire

October 24, 2013

Sometimes you hear a song that just is music to feed your soul. Yesterday was that day for me. I took a listen to a song by Fiona Kernaghan, singer/songwriter and it just melted me. Her song, “I Don’t Want To Remember” not only has some very clever lyrics but Fiona‘s voice is breathtaking and just draws you in to hear more. Fiona is definitely not a novice at songwriting/singing, she has a vast experience that includes having written twenty hit singles, written theme songs to two TV shows, lots of film and tv placements and over one hundred cuts worldwide. I found the song on her blog that I follow The Song Mistress which takes you on Fiona’s journey of her talented songwriting process. So check out her lyric video for her song, “I Don’t Want To Remember” here:     She has such a magical voice! This song as well as other music by Fiona is available here on Itunes. Please take the time out to check out this amazing artist! Also, make [Read More]

You can read that post here and how Falling in Reverse proved that their haters were their motivators! We then had the opportunity to catch Falling in Reverse perform at the Aftershock Festival in Sacramento last month. They put on an amazing show that had everyone in the crowd enjoying them, even if they had never heard of them.  You can check out a tribute video that Rockin Ryan put together which includes photos and footage of their performance here:     Next Tuesday, we will be catching Falling In Reverse as they play at Slim’s in San Francisco at the start of their “An Evening with Falling Reverse Tour” unplugged and uncensored.
