Motorhead release “Aftershock” Today!

October 22, 2013

Today is the day for the  new release, “Aftershock” by Motörhead. Talk about a band that can keep putting out incredible in your face original “heavy rocky n roll”. Here is a band that is coming up on a 40 year history and is still rockin like the first years. Lemmy Kilmister started this band back in 1975 and over they years they have had lineup changes with guitar and drums but Lemmy has KICKED ASS throughout. So make sure to head over to your local music store or Itunes and pick up your copy! Some of my absolute favorites are Heartbreaker, Lost Woman Blues, Dust and Glass, Silence When You Speak To Me, and Paralyzed. It is hard because there are a lot to choose from. Lost Woman Blues really brings out a fantastic blues vibe and highlights Lemmy’s vocals.  Phillip’s guitar work takes a hold of me and I am in another dimension, I love it!  “Queen of the Damned” is another ferocious track that brings the intensity from the first note to [Read More]

Katey Sagal debuts her cover of “Free Fallin” today

October 22, 2013

The multi talented Katey Sagal who you might know as Gemma Teller Morrow on the hit FX Series “Sons of Anarchy” has debuted her cover of Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin” on RollingStone.com today.  Although many know of Katey from her acting career, she has had a long standing  musical career that included the release of two solo albums, performing back up vocals for Bob Dylan, Gene Simmons, Bette Midler and Tanya Tucker as well as contributing music to the “Sons Of Anarchy” soundtrack. One thing is for sure, Katey has such an amazing voice that not only emotionally draws you in but her powerful vocals wrap around you as if to keep you safe. She is purely magical when you hear her sing.  She will be releasing her album “Covered” on November 11th but you can head over to Itunes and pick up her  “Free Fallin” single now. Asked about this upcoming album, Katey replied, “Covered is my third solo record. My two previous records were mostly original compositions. This one is not. I was tired [Read More]

Get Ready, Simon Cruz and Terror Launch new clothing line!

October 21, 2013

One of my favorite singers is teaming up to launch a new clothing line and it is going be just as WILD as he is!!!! Simon Cruz of Crashdiet and Terror have released a teaser video to announce their launch of their upcoming clothing line. You can check it out here:   I love this teaser video, especially the part when Simon and Terror are huddled in the attic sewing the clothes. It completely reminds me of my son Rockin Ryan when he is doing his custom threads. Obviously it will be an amazing line because if you have seen the clothing that Simon wears on and off stage he has some bitchin style!  We had the opportunity to catch Crashdiet as they played at the DNA Lounge earlier this year. They put on the best live show and truly just bleed energy! You can check out a video from that night as well as several photos from Rockin Ryan.     We will keep you updated when we get more news about the clothing [Read More]

The Charm The Fury album is a must for modern day metal fans!

October 20, 2013

Last month we introduced you to the band from the Netherlands,  The Charm The Fury as our Tuesdays Travels Pick of the Week. Well, we have been enjoying their debut album which was released in September, “A Shade of My Former Self”.  This full length album is truly remarkable and for a debut album, packs a lot of punch! This metalcore band has been dubbed as Holland’s “best kept secret” and they are taking the world by storm with their edgy yet aggressive style. I would almost consider this album to be a concept album since it is definitely a complete work of art that tells a story and walks or should I say headbangs you into a journey.  Let me tell you about several of the songs on this amazing album! The first song, The Unveiling  is a haunting composition that leads you into a dramatic march style build up that opens the door to the next song,  A Testament. This ferocious metalcore song also includes great harmony and kick ass vocals by Caroline. The Pretty Reckless is a crowd pleaser in San Francisco!

October 20, 2013

Just only a week ago, I was at Slim’s in San Francisco and enjoying the incredible, Russian, British and American band lineup that comprised of Louna, Heaven’s Basement and The Pretty Reckless. You can read our reviews of Louna and Heaven’s Basement here. It was quite a night as these three very different bands came together and gave an amazing show that had the crowd continuously rockin out all night. This was the first time I saw The Pretty Reckless although I did get to enjoy Taylor Momsen as she joined Marilyn Manson on stage for the 2012 Revolver Golden Gods Awards.  I have the footage in the Links below. One thing is for sure The Pretty Reckless has amazing stage presence and their songs are so damn good. I was immediately drawn in and excited to watch  more. Taylor Momsen has stated in the past that her musical influences are Kurt Cobain and Joan Jett and that is exactly what you get with her! She has this amazing grunge style with this rockin attitude [Read More]
