Countdown to new EP by Southerland Nights and interview with Adam!

October 8, 2013

We are counting down the days to the release of Southerland Night‘s new EP, Destroy Something Beautiful. This three piece rock band from Houston, Texas has an incredible devout following that are aptly called The Accolade. Once  you take a listen to their emotionally driven high energy alternative rock, you will have no other choice than to join us and be part of The Accolade.  Their music reminds me of what would be a cross between early David Bowie and Thirty Second To Mars with a side of Depeche Mode. The band consists of singer/guitarist Adam Elara, bassist Andy Nova and drummer Stephen Adwell. They recently released a very heartwarming and uplifting video for their song, “Here I Am“. You can watch the video here:   We had the opportunity to interview Adam and we are pleased to bring that interview to you: * * * * * * * * * Music Junkie Press: How old were you when you first started playing music? Adam: I was 14 when Andy (our bassist) taught me [Read More]

Sebastian Bach working on new album with Duff McKagan, Steve Stevens and John 5!

October 8, 2013

I remember the first time I ever saw Sebastian Bach. He was with Skid Row (who are we kidding… HE IS SKID ROW, anyway back to the story!!!) and they were the opening act for Aerosmith at the Cow Palace in Daly City (near San Francisco) and it was 1989. I had waited in line since 7 am with about another 100 crazy Aerosmith fans just so we could be up front and on the rail.  It was amazing because as I was front and center ready to watch Aerosmith, I didn’t know that I was about to meet what soon became one of my all time favorite bands…..  Skid Row came out and Sebastian Bach just had everyone on their feet and READY TO ROCK!! The crowd was rushing up front at the first song… Yes, security was even yelling….. GET BACK or should I say…. GET BACH!!!! Ok, seriously it was intense, I knew that this young kid was soon going to take over the rock and roll world. Fast forward to today [Read More]

Fear Me December is our Tuesdays Travel Pick!

October 8, 2013

Straight from Santa Fe, Argentina is an incredible alternative rock back that I have been listening a lot too lately. Allow me to introduce you to Fear Me December. This band formed only a little over a year ago but they definitely have a  history with music. The members Emiliano, Victoria and Valentin are  former members of Dark Secret. Victoria plays bass and also delivers captivating vocals. Valentin gives us the great guitar and backing vocals and Emiliano brings it all together with his drumming. They have recently released their EP out “Who Cares?” and I have been really enjoying their single off it, “Goodbye to You“. You can check the song out here on their video for the song:   We are going to be bringing you an interview with this band soon but for now, make sure to visit their social media sites. ~ Marisol Information & Links: Website: http://www.fearmedecember.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/fmdband Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/fearmedecembercanal Twitter for Fear Me December: www.twitter.com/FearMeDec Twitter for Victoria: www.twitter.com/lintu_dll Twitter for Emiliano: www.twitter.com/EmiSpesot Twitter for Valentin: www.twitter.com/ValeFMD

Fozzy takes over the DNA Lounge in San Francisco

October 7, 2013

Heavy Metal Rockers, FOZZY have been touring with legendary Saxon and last night they had a stop here in San  Francisco at the DNA Lounge. This was the first time that FOZZY has made a San Francisco  appearance and they truly showed us what we have been missing!  They put on an incredible show. These five guys just have adrenaline running through their veins from the moment they step out on to that stage and give us 150% of what they got. We were excited to see them play, since back in August, we had the opportunity to talk with Chris Jericho about the Sacrifice and Sin tour. You can read the entire interview below or check it out here. We got there just in time to catch Halcyon Way as they got the crowd warmed up and ready to ROCK. We will tell you more about them under a separate post.  Then FOZZY started their set with my favorite song, “Spider in My Mouth” and that is the perfect song to get the crowd pumped. [Read More]

Filter cancels SF Show and Phil Buckman announces departure from FILTER

October 5, 2013

First news of the day is that FILTER has cancelled their upcoming San Francisco show set for tomorrow night, October 6th at Regency Ballroom. This was one stop on their Self Inflicted Tour with RED, Otherwise, and We As Human.  We were looking forward to covering this show since it was filled with our favorite bands that we got to see at Aftershock Festival. We As Human and Otherwise really stole the show at the Sacramento festival. I heard the cancellation via a local radio station’s status but I couldn’t find it anywhere else. Then through my searching, I came across even more news. On September 30th Phil Buckman, bassists announced his departure from FILTER. I completely missed this news and have not seen anything else about it. Today I did see a tweet from FILTER Official that mentions it. Here are the two posts. So there you go. I wish Phil all the best in his future endeavors. He is one talented musician and incredible bassist. You can catch Phil performing at the ROCK [Read More]
