Haunted by Heroes heading back to the Whiskey for CD Release Party!

January 15, 2013

With NAMM being almost a week away, I need to tell you about another band that will be playing at the Whiskey during NAMM week. Haunted by Heroes are known as the World’s Youngest Rock Band and these kids will be rocking the Whiskey on January 25th opening for Uli Jon Roth (Scorpions) & Warren DeMartini (RATT). What an incredible talent these boys have and they haven’t even hit their teen years yet! I actually saw them play last year at NAMM and was blown away by their energy at their young ages. If you closed your eyes when you listened to them, you would have never imagined that the great rock and roll was coming from a group of 12 year olds! At the time, I didn’t know where they were from but I did hear a lot of buzz about these kids. I was even more surprised to find out they were also from the Bay Area. I loved growing up in San Mateo and it is awesome to have these kids be from Pacifica. [Read More]

Man Made Machine was built to Rock you!

January 9, 2013

Interview with Man Made Machine So not to long ago I featured Man Made Machine as our Day 4 of the 12 Days of Christmas Rock. Man Made Machine is Joe Cotela on Vocals, Justyn Sena on Bass, Matt Reinhard on Drums, Marc Hernandez and Steve Siminski on Guitars. Together they bring the chemistry and energy alive. Here is a link to that previous post.  I am hoping you got a chance to listen to more of them and maybe even make it out to their show last month in Arizona.  Well, we were able to chat with the band and find out how they are doing and what they have planned for us this year. Check it out. ~ Interview ~  Music Junkie Press: Thank you very much guys for taking the time to talk with us at Music Junkie Press. So let’s get straight into it here… How did the band form? Joe Cotela:  Kind of the usual thing, we all grew up playing in bands around the same area and finally fell into place together. The [Read More]

Reckless Love Rocks it for the 12th day of Christmas!

December 23, 2012

12 Days of Rock Christmas! Day 12 On the 12th day of Christmas my Rock and Roll love gave to me some bold glam rock  with Reckless Love. Being the last day of the 12 Days of Christmas, I wanted to really bring out and highlight my love for 80’s rock and sleaze rock. It is as if  Reckless Love were a band frozen in time just before the grunge and alternative rock took over the airwaves. Then they were thawed out and just came out guns blazing  and ready to rock. These guys literally just have everything that I wanted back in my ’80s rock and so much more. They are delivering fresh new music and their song “Born to Break Your Heart” has topped the charts at No. 1 on Fin Radio. This song reminds could rival any Bon Jovi hits and I really like it! Reckless Love is from Kuopio, Finland and they started back in 2001, first by playing all Guns ‘n Roses cover songs. They have since put out two albums and [Read More]

Day 9 brings CrashDiet for 12 Days of Christmas Rock!

December 20, 2012

12 Days of Rock Christmas! Day 9  On the 9th day of Christmas my Rock and Roll love gave to me some sexy glam rock from Crashdiet.  I have been transported back in my time machine and I am walking down the Sunset Strip in the mid 1980’s. Up and down the strip I can catch a show, anything from Glam Metal, Hair Bands, or even some Punk shows. I have my favorite pair of fringed white Zodiac Boots, bright zebra print top and my short pink skirt. Of course I have my hair in my high upstyle and tons of hairspray. I am ready to check out some bands and rock out. That is what Crashdiet brings back to me. All my favorite memories of partying and rocking out in the 80’s but now I can enjoy that same feeling while listening to this Swedish “sleaze rock” band. They are like that second shot of whiskey, it feels great but be prepared for some fun and trouble. I have had some deep discussions with others [Read More]

Day 6 brings us Tracer for the 12 Days of Rock Christmas!

December 17, 2012

12 Days of Rock Christmas! Day 6 On the 6th day of Christmas my Rock and Roll love gave to me an incredible treasure from down under called Tracer. This one took me by surprise since the second I heard it, I was grinning from ear to ear as if I had just won the lottery. I quietly crept into Rockin Ryan’s Garage to plug in my favorite pair of Marshall headphones so I could really take a good listen to this band. I needed to make sure what I was hearing was just as awesome I thought it was… Well verdict IN. YES, it was. It was a gift of sweet classic rock soaked in grungy sweat that just tickled my senses! Judging from the intense and larger than life sound that Tracer  delivers, it is hard to believe that it is just three guys in this band. Michael Brown has flawless vocals and wields out some excellent riffs and high energy solos and hooks on the guitar. Pat Saracino is also on vocals and dominates [Read More]

Winchester Rebels is the 5th gift for the 12 Days of Rock Christmas!

December 16, 2012

12 Days of Rock Christmas! Day 5 On the 5th day of Christmas my Rock and Roll love gave to me some LA Rock from Winchester Rebels. I am so glad that these guys are around to show that certain types of music will live on and evolve. With Winchester Rebels you get the powerful feel, reminiscent of Rock and Roll straight from the Sunset Strip but laced with some Seattle grunge. It is the perfect blend, like I created my perfect coffee mix, a little of this and a little of that and BAM you have a double shot of ROCK to enjoy! It is as if Scott Weiland walked into the wrong studio and  ended up in an Alice in Chains studio and they just jammed.  What developed was their own unique sound that is Winchester Rebels and is a sound that is hard to rival. Belting out the awesome and sexy vocals is Nick Hunt, then you are given a double dose of rockin guitars by Nick Fitzgerald and James Longoria. Add in [Read More]

Day 4 brings Man Made Machine for 12 Days of Rock Christmas!

December 15, 2012

12 Days of Rock Christmas! Day 4 On the 4th day of Christmas my Rock and Roll love gave to me some high energy rock from Man Made Machine. Get ready people, you are going to love this band! They have been described as a full-octane rock and metal sound. When you listen to them you will instantly be banging your head with fists in the air and ready to ROCK! Even though they had many labels approaching them, they inked a record deal with Razor & Tie to debut their album “BECOME”. Now this gets even better when you throw in the fact that it is produced by Chad Gray and Greg Tribbett (Mudvayne/HellYeah) and mixed by Jeremy Parker (Godsmack/Evanescence). Ya, I know, you can pick up your jaw now. These guys have an incredible entourage backing them and guess what? They do not let anyone down, but instead exceed expectations by delivering solid powered rock with emotionally charged lyrics. Man Made Machine is Joe Cotela on Vocals, Justyn Sena on Bass, Matt Reinhard [Read More]
