Blue October’s concert film Things We Do At Night (Live From Texas) is a MUST HAVE!

December 2, 2015

Blue October recently released their live concert film, Things We Do At Night (Live From Texas) on November 20th on DVD/Blue Ray also as a double disc concert album on CD and digital. It is an exceptional work of art that truly captures the raw emotion that Blue October brings to the stage. For a concert film, many go to relive a concert memory or to get an idea of what a concert might be like. With this concert film, you will watch it and not only be reminded of the great performances of Blue October but will watch with anticipation of when will be the next time you can see them. The concert film was filmed at House of Blues in Dallas, Texas and includes songs from their extensive catalog spanning nearly two decades. The lighting and ambiance of the film truly capture the concert experience and you are instantly transported into the audience. Personally, I have seen Blue October nearly a dozen times and the video brings the magical element of their performance to [Read More]

Blue October returns to Sacramento for an unforgettable night of music

April 14, 2015

Blue October returned to the Ace of Spades in Sacramento for an unforgettable night of music out on the Fear Tour. The night began with a very special treat of a set by Harvard of the South which features Steve Schiltz and is a side project of Blue October’s Matt Noveskey, Jeremy and Justin Furstenfeld. Their high energy set got the crowd fueled and ready to rock. Their song, Miracle is absolutely gripping and will have you immediately hooked. They recently released their new EP, Miracle and we look forward to what the future may bring for Harvard of the South, hopefully a lot more shows! Next up is one of our favorite vocalists, Ashleigh Stone. Ashleigh is truly amazing and her angelic vocals will captivate you as she delivers a shot of emotion that hits you right in the heart. Ashleigh is one of the first artists that Justin signed to his record label, UpDown Records and her new full length album, Elements is currently available at all the shows. Her music will whisk you away [Read More]

12 Days of Vocalists

Day 10 of our 12 Days of Vocalists goes to Justin Furstenfeld of Blue October

December 24, 2014

It is Christmas Eve and we are at the Day 10 of 12 Days of Vocalists. Today I would like to honor a vocalist who not only brings a paramount of emotion to life when he sings but has also been the soundtrack to many of my life’s ups and downs. That is the supremely talented, Justin Furstenfeld of Blue October.  There is something so purely magical when Justin sings, his heartfelt passion shines through to the listener and creates an everlasting connection. He brings them hope, helps them, quiets their frustration, comforts them, ignites a passion within them, and is that little voice in your head telling you that it will all be okay. Maybe it is the fact that through his music, he has dealt with so many issues, struggles, celebrations, etc. Through his emotionally driven lyrics he has invited us all into his world and his songs in return, help each and every one of us when we are faced with our own challenges. He is vulnerable, raw, passionate, and completely honest [Read More]

Tour dates are listed below:   There is no doubt that once again Blue October will be delivering an incredible set out on the tour. Earlier this year, they blew us away for the SWAY Tour as it made a stop at  the Ace of Spades in Sacramento.  Every time I leave a Blue October concert, I catch myself saying the exact same thing… I never thought they could exceed how excellent they were at their last performance and every time, they prove me wrong. One thing I love about Blue October is the fans, there is no cookie cutter fan. Blue October‘s music extends across genres, generations and cultures. You will find a [Read More]

Blue October SWAY concert review by guest contributor by Mark Iman

November 19, 2014

by Guest Contributor Mark Iman, MarkImanConcertReview.blogspot.com November 12, 2014 kicked off the final installment of touring for Blue October’s most recent album, SWAY, at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland. Starting the evening off was Harvard Of The South, a side project created by Blue Octobers Justin Furstenfeld, Matt Noveskey, Jeremy Furstenfeld and longtime collaborator and friend Steve Schiltz of Hurricane Bells and Longwave.  The band recently released a 5 song EP titled Miracle and is currently available at the shows. I made sure to grab my copy and have a hard time switching to anything else. It has a great old school grunge feel only with less teenage angst.  As I heard someone in the crowd state “Imagine if Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and Smashing Pumpkins had an illegitimate love child, this would be it.” Being that all the bands listed are a staple in music history I see no better way to compliment them and look forward to hearing more music in the future. The show started with a brief video telling everyone about the [Read More]
