This year’s Vans Warped Tour has a lot of great bands and an amazing array of music which will satisfy everyone’s needs. I was excited when I heard that For Today would be playing on the Kia Soul Stage. They will be on the entire tour and they put on an amazing set. They come out and give 150% energy on the stage and the crowd is instantly adrenalized. Whatever time they are set to play, the crowd gets invigorated by their metal/hardcore set and the energy is contagious. I was ecstatic to catch them twice in the week and each time they delivered a fierce spot on set. One of the highlights this year is the Acoustic Basement Stage Presented By Full Sail University. This year you will be able to catch the amazing set by Front Porch Step all summer long. Front Porch Step is the fantastic acoustic project of Jake McElfresh. His vocals are tender yet powerful and his songs deliver emotionally driven lyrics that grab a hold of your heart and connect to the listener. He is passionate in his songs and you are truly held captive when he sings. He feeds your soul as he takes you on a musical journey through his emotions. He reminds me of the first time I ever heard Justin Furstenfeld of Blue October and how his songs kidnapped me in my mind. Tomorrow we are excited to be returning to cover Vans Warped Tour in Wheatland, CA. One of the bands we have on our Must See list is A Skylit Drive. Every time they perform, they deliver a 150% adrenaline filled set. I wonder where they get all the energy from, they must have turbo Wheaties! I bet it comes from having Jag’s signature dish of Dark Chocolate French Toast. Want to know what I am talking about? Crown The Empire announce the Welcome to the Resistance Tour set for this fall!

Just a couple weeks away from the sophomore LP release by Crown the Empire. On July 22nd you will be able to pick up The Resistance: Rise of the Runaways. We are excited for the new release and were glad to catch them when they performed in Chico earlier this year for the Break Down the Walls Tour with Asking Alexandria. Teenage Bottlerocket sign to Rise Records and catch them on Warped Tour

When many people think of Warped Tour, they often think of old school punk rock bands which is what the Warped Tour has been known for. This year they are celebrating 20 years of bringing great music of bands you know or bands you have never heard of to the masses. Over the years, in addition to punk the genre lines were opened and many other styles of music grace the Warped Tour stages. This past Saturday during our coverage of the Mountain View tour date, we were excited to see a true blue “old school punk rock” grace the Hard Rock Kevin Says stage! Of course, we are talking about Teenage Bottlerocket and they were awesome. Teenage Bottlerocket hail from Laramie, WY and will be performing on this year’s tour. Icon For Hire was one of the highlights of our Warped Tour Coverage

This year Vans Warped Tour had many great bands on several stages. It truly became hard to choose where to go and who to check out. What is great is that we still have another full day of Warped Tour to check out all the bands we did miss. Saturday was the perfect day for Warped Tour, hot but not extremely blazing as it has been in the past. There were lines that went to the back of the parking lot as early as 9:30. Nobody wanted to miss out on catching all the great bands. There is one band that I have to tell you about. After running around from the main stages to the amphitheatre stages, I found myself at the Hard Rock Kevin Says Stage at 6:30. I was there just in time for the 6:35 start of Icon For Hire which I didn’t know anything about (I know, shame on me, shake your finger at me and tell me that it was very bad that I hadn’t heard of them before!!).
