AraabMuzik kicks off DoLA platform, built on partnerships, user input, and great  music  by Patrick O’Heffernan

September 30, 2015

(Los Angeles) As Los Angeles gets comfortable with its status as the music capital of the nation – and in some ways, of the world –  residents of the City of Angels are increasingly faced with the problem of choosing among a dizzying proliferation of events, bands, festivals, and venues for entertainment.  I know, this is the kind of problem most of the nation’s and world’s cities wish they had, but LA’s peculiar geography and mix of people present unique problems, especially for fans who want to follow particular bands or genres.   I was recently introduced to DoLA, an event notification service that may bring order to the firehose of events in this city bisected by a mountain range.  A new venture based  on cooperative partnerships, technology and user control may just make life easier for fans and bands and help LA’s music and entertainment scene get even better.   At present, you can follow a band’s website and get their newsletters, or you can get to know the venues that cater to [Read More]

Valley Fire Benefit Concert ROCKS the Phoenix Theater

September 30, 2015

This past Saturday night we held our Valley Fire Benefit Concert at the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma. It was hard to believe that the event was planned, organized and put on within two weeks of the Valley Fire devastation.  The community came together with an amazing group of musicians and the benefit was a success. even though we came across some setbacks such as our sound guy being laid up in the hospital, we had six great bands that put on stellar performances and rocked the venue. We were so honored to have Chasta Freeman Michaelis of 107.7 The Bone emcee our event. She got the crowd not only pumped up, but encouraged them to empty their pockets for this great cause.  At last report, we have successfully raised $2,100 which will be going directly to the Valley Fire Victims through the Moose Lodge in Clearlake and Middletown Animal Hospital. We will continue to keep the donation link up so people can continue to donate in the new few weeks. The night started off with [Read More]
