The Regency Ballroom was the place to be on Sunday night as Coal Chamber was making a stop in San Francisco. The reunited Coal Chamber are set to release their first album in 13 years, Rivals on May 19th through Napalm Records. They are busy touring in support of their much anticipated album and we were glad to catch their show in SF.

The dark heavy rock Saint Ridley from Detroit, MI gave an impressive opening set as they warmed up the crowd with their blend of metal/hard rock infused with a great Pantera vibe. You can read more about them here: Saint Ridley is our Band of the Day.

Next up was American Head Charge and they were amazing. The band sounded tight as ever and they got the crowd into a heavy frenzy of headbanging. They delivered 150% from the second they step on to that stage until they walk off. It is unbelievable and their high energy performance left quite an impression on many as you couldn’t help but look forward to the next time you would be able to see them! We will bringing you an interview with singer Cameron and guitarist Ted this weekend, so stay tuned!

Combichrist set the stage ablaze with their explosive set that had the venue fueled and charged with adrenaline. Everytime I see them, I am always in awe of how they can top their previous performance and keep setting the bar higher. Vocalist Andy held the audience captive as his powerful vocals would incite you to get closer and closer. He then jumped in the crowd and the craziness ensued. It was wild for everyone!

Filter was up next and they had a great stage show with the fog and lights that seemed to create the perfect atmosphere for the industrial rockers to play their hits. Of course Filter has such a long list of hits to fit in but the crowd bursted with excitement as they played, Hey Man, Nice Shot. Patrick’s vocals were on point and delivered above studio quality on each song.

Coal Chamber opened up with Loco and the crowd went wild. There was such a vibe in the audience that everyone was literally in awe that they were there to be part of this intense and outstanding night. The passion that Coal Chamber brings to the stage was greeted and mirrored by the fans. Dez is a madman on the stage and he feeds off the energy of the crowd. His vocals were powerful and spot on. He is exactly where he belongs, front and center, what a stellar frontman! The beautiful Nadja was fierce slamming on her bass and we had the chance to chat with her before their set. We will be bringing that to you tomorrow. Meegs killed it on guitar and he was there to insure that everyone was having a good time in between racing around the stage. Mike on drums brought it all together as his hard hitting precision drums would resonate through your body.
