Today our Bottle Rock Napa Featured Band is Major Powers & The Lo-Fi Symphony. Allow me to introduce you to an amazing new band that I just discovered. I was in the midst of our Bottle Rock Napa features and one of the bands I was to check out was Major Powers & The Lo-Fi Symphony. That was several hours ago and I still haven’t been able to get the smile off my face. These three guys have created a sound they call “Adventure Rock”, I call it DAMN FINE MUSIC! Fun rockin music that is purely good for the soul. They have such a playful sense in their lyrics and melodies that you can’t help but enjoy them.

I can only imagine how they would be LIVE! The first song that I heard was their hit 93,000,000 Miles and the intro reminds me of the larger than life sound of Queen and I swear I thought I found a long lost Queen tape!  The song is SPECTACULAR! You will not want to turn it off but yet you will be so drawn in to listening to their other songs… and guess what? They are also just as awesome as this one.  I couldn’t imagine that these three guys: a pianist, guitarist and drummer who all sing can create such unrivaled energy and a powerful sound. If I had to place it, it might be a sound similar to the offspring of vintage Queen and early Barenaked Ladies. This is one band that I am looking forward to seeing a lot more of. They have several  upcoming shows in April/May and you can check those dates out on their website here. Here is our quick band feature:
