Blue October releases new song Sideways

October 11, 2023

Blue October are gearing up for the release of their new album, Spinning The Truth Around II which is set for October 13th, 2023. We have been in high anticipation for it and today we are enjoying the latest single release, Sideways. This song is definitely going to have a permanent spot on my playlist!  I love the raw vulnerability that Justin brings to life with his songs. It is as if he is in our head pulling out our exact thoughts and feelings, allowing us to not feel so alone with it. The guitars in it are absolutely stellar and I can only imagine how awesome it would be live!  It has some of my favorite lyrics as well:   We created a whole world where we kept ignoring exactly how we felt So don’t let the music die Don’t let it bring you down, keep roaring Say exactly how you feel when everything’s sideways When everything’s sideways   Check out the song and get ready for the new album! February 28, 2020

Just in time to enjoy the weekend. Blue October is set on lifting up your mood and have you dancing around with their new song, Oh My My. The new track also features a lyric video. Check out and you will be instantly hooked. You can stream it here or watch the video here:   About the new song: Blue October’s new single, “Oh My My” is taken from the band’s forthcoming new album, ‘This is What You Live For.’ An anthem about the animal attraction from opposite sides of the tracks, “Oh My My” captures that magnetism and lets it loose inside a bottled-up and uncontrollable primal love song (“Girl, you get me high / Yeah, you’re my type / You’re danger danger.”). “These songs on this album should make you want to fall in love with somebody, or miss somebody, or want to do something outrageous with your life,” says Justin Furstenfeld. “This new album is going to catch some people off-guard,” says bassist Matt Novesky of Blue October about their new album [Read More]

June 15, 2018

tran·scend·ent ˌtran(t)ˈsend(ə)nt/   adjective beyond or above the range of normal or merely physical human experience. “the search for a transcendent level of knowledge” surpassing the ordinary; exceptional. “the Blue October concert  was described as a “transcendent experience.””   Last night we ventured to San Francisco for the return of Blue October. They are currently out on tour as they prepare to release their ninth studio album, I Hope You’re Happy on August 17th via Up/Down-Brando Records. We have been anticipating this show as the music of Blue October has been the soundtrack of our lives for nearly the past 20 years. It was there for the good times, the bad times, the laughs, the tears, the triumphs, the losses and everything in between. We all have music that gets us through those times, but not often is it by the same artist/band. Most recently through our loss of the business and our home in the Santa Rosa fires, the music of Blue October was there as our staunch friend. Amid all the loss and struggle, we couldn’t help [Read More]

Music heals. I couldn’t give a more truer example than my love for Blue October’s new video for “I Hope You’re Happy”. Interview with Justin of Blue October ahead of their stellar performance at The Fillmore in San Francisco

May 20, 2017

Earlier this week we headed to the legendary Fillmore as Blue October brought the Heart Go Bang Tour to San Francisco. We have impatiently waited for this date to arrive. See, Blue October was not just another band for us to cover, they are a band that had provided the playlist to my life’s ups and downs for the past 20 years. Most recently in March, during my Mother’s hospice care at home, she would lay next to me and listen to Blue October, nearly silent for days, yet show would respond and tell me she liked the songs. Her favorite during that time, The Feel Again, (Stay).  What a heavy song and yet, I truly clutched to those words… Stay… selfishly I wanted more time with her.  After she passed away, I could feel the dark depression setting in as it had with my Father 5 years earlier. But I turned to music and once again to Blue October. Their latest album, Home which shot up the charts to a No. 1 spot [Read More]
