The Wonder Years premier new video for Dismantling Summer

March 25, 2014

Pop Punk sensation, The Wonder Years are in the midst of their shows for their headlining tour, “The Greatest Generation Tour”. They have been having great success with the tour and shows are selling out. They just released a music video for Dismantling Summer which is off of their latest album, The Greatest Generation. The video was directed by Drew Russ and shot in the band’s hometown of Philadelphia, PA. “We knew that for a song so personal, a literal re-telling for the video would be unwelcome and painful.”  Says lead vocalist Dan “Soupy” Campbell. “Drew, the director took the core nerve of the song, the idea of being away when it matters most, and spun it into an absurdist piece of dark comedy during which my family found themselves fed up with my perpetual absence and replaced me with a mannequin, leaving me in the literal cold.”  Check out the video here:     You can catch The Wonder Years out on their headlining tour with support from Fireworks, Real Friends, Citizen and Modern Baseball. Strange Talk from Australia captures the crowd in San Francisco

March 22, 2014

Strange Talk were quite busy performing nine shows at SXSW this year and then they set out to tour with Sounds. Last night Melbourne, Australian alternative pop band, Strange Talk performed in San Francisco at the Regency Ballroom. These guys have a great new refreshing sound. They blend a bit of the eighties pop with a touch of 90’s electro and then wrapped into their own  edgy style. Strange Talk is set to release their self-produced debut album Cast Away on April 29th via Wind-Up Records. All songs on the album were mixed by Tony Hoffer (M83, Phoenix) with the exception of “Climbing Walls,” “Eskimo Boy” and “Is It Real?” which were mixed by Eliot James (Bloc Party, Two Door Cinema Club). One thing is for sure, Strange Talk truly capture their studio sound and bring it to life on the stage. The crowd loved them and they captured the hearts of San Francisco. One of the highlights was when they perfomed their new single, “Young Hearts”. I am absolutely in love with this song. It is an upbeat fun song with a catchy [Read More]

Our featured Bottle Rock Napa Band of the Day is an all time fave of mine: Gin Blossoms

March 19, 2014

Today our Bottle Rock Napa Featured Band is Gin Blossoms. Gin Blossoms has been one of my all time favorite bands and always reminds me of summertime.  I probably think of summer since I remember having my favorite Gin Blossoms Dusted cassette playing on my long summer drives back and forth to LA. I must have worn out that Cassette that summer of 1990. I remember playing them long before my friends hopped on board in 1991/1992 as they re-recorded several of the songs after signing to A&M Records and instantly grew in popularity. Gin Blossoms’ songs are always catchy, fun and carefree. The perfect backdrop for any band. Their music has been described as alternative, melodic rock, pop, folk, and so much more. If I was to describe it I would say Gin Blossoms is like a fun in the sun summer day. If you could take the memories of good times spent with friends, young love, simply having a good time and feeling carefree; that is what Gin Blossoms sounds like. Of course, because [Read More]
