The Dead Rabbitts Premiere New Song “Shapeshifter”

June 2, 2014

Everybody loves super groups and don’t think super groups are reserved for ROCK! Check out the metalcore super group The Dead Rabbitts which is really getting a lot of attention. The Dead Rabbitts  is comprised of Craig Mabbitt (Escape the Fate), Alex Torres (Eyes Set to Kill, Greeley Estates, Alesana), TJ Bell (Escape the Fate, Motionless in White), and Chris Julian.   The music is reminiscent of Craig’s previous bands Blessthefall and The Word Alive and brings out a heavier edge to the music but still promises to deliver hooks and melodies. The Dead Rabbitts are premiering their tittle track of their new album Shapeshifter.   Now that you are hooked on the music, it is time to see them LIVE! The Dead Rabbitts have just announced a new tour. It is going to be an AWESOME TOUR! The Highlight of the 2014 Bottle Rock Napa Festival was The Cure!

June 2, 2014

For the past three months we have been bringing to you our featured artists and bands for the 2014 Bottle Rock Napa Festival. The festival was a great success, very well organized, plenty of parking, shuttles, food vendors, water refilling and phone charging stations. We will continue to bring you our recap of this successful festival but first we wanted to bring you the Highlight of the 2014 Bottle Rock Napa Festival. I don’t think it comes as any surprise, that The Cure has been chosen as the highlight of this year’s festival. The Cure played on Friday night and after a long day of great bands, good food and lots of fun. They started promptly at 7:30 and treated us to a nonstop 2 1/2 hour set. When I mean nonstop, I mean literally nonstop. There were no show breaks, or small talk. They were there to perform and did everything to insure that we all heard our personal favorites as well as some songs that haven’t played live in years!  Due to the [Read More]

Shakedown by Justin Dzuban is no shakedown. It’s a winner. By Patrick O’Heffernan

June 2, 2014

Justin Dzuban’s music is down-to-earth, but it grips you, it makes you listen carefully, repeatedly.  His songs are like a strong woman with a soft voice – you lean in and pay very close attention because you don’t want to miss a single word.  His deep baritone is a natural fit for the gritty lyrics he writes. The Ohio native transplanted to the beach in Los Angeles blends Nashville twang with blues and country western into a California alt. country genre that tells stories of a world of hurt and heartbreak and also of hope and love.  There is no pretention, no affectation.  What you see is what you hear and what you hear is addictive. His new album, Shakedown, is a winner; each song is a handcrafted musical artwork unifying Justin Dzuban’s authentic country baritone with his real life lyrics and superb production skills. The self-produced album, available June 17,  brings together an eclectic group of very talented musicians including Alejandro Arellano on drums, Eden Livingood on violin, Greg Cahill on electric guitar, Michael [Read More]

MONUMENTS release new lyric video for “Origin of Escape” off forthcoming album

June 2, 2014

Britain’s MONUMENTS is set to release their new album, The Amanuensis which is the follow up to Gnosis which came out in 2012. The title of the album was inspired by author David Mitchell’s novel, “Cloud Atlas”. The complex story lines are the perfect analog for MONUMENTS. Musically the group weaves in and out of themes, motifs, and professor-like note calculations with graceful ease while lyrically THE AMANUENSIScomes from a very different place. “The album is about the Samsara cycle,” reveals guitarist John Browne. “The cyclical existence of life that we are all bound to.” They have just released a new lyric video for their song, Origin of Escape and you can check it out here:   The song is off of their forthcoming album, The Amanuensis which is set for a July 8th release through Century Media. MONUMENTS also have several upcoming European show dates: MONUMENTS upcoming dates: 6-15-14 (UK) Donnington Park – Download Festival 6-22-14 (ES) Bilbao – Kafe Antzokia ** 6-24-14 (IT) Pinarella di Cervia – RockPlanet ** 6-25-14 (DE) Stuttgart – Universum ** 6-26-14 (NL) Utrecht [Read More]

Doña Oxford birthday bash a blast at Brennan’s in the Marina By Patrick O’Heffernan

June 2, 2014

Doña Oxford makes people move. Fresh back from playing onstage with Albert Lee in London and in the studio backing a new album with Van Morrison,  Doña Oxford brought her high octane R&B and boogie woogie soul train to Brennan’s in Marina del Rey to celebrate her birthday (39, of course). And Brennan’s may never recover. She came on at 9:30 pm and played three sets, and at one point, even the sports fans at the bar gave up following ESP and joined in the locomotion. There were even dancing folks bopping  in the tiny space in front of the restrooms doors.  It was a hoot. Doña brought the full band for her birthday present to the audience:  the amazing British transplant Colin Ryan on electric guitar, Bill Brennenstuhl keeping it moving on the drums, Fred Johnson  playing  bass and adding a few hallelujahs, and the never-stop-dancing backup vocal singers Robin Daléa and Jamila Ford. Doña conducted them flawlessly from her center spot in front of the big Hammond keyboard, flashing hand signals while her [Read More]
