We couldn’t be more excited to share that Greta Van Fleet is back with new music. Their music has been such a huge part of the soundtrack of our lives over the years. Back in 2017, when we lost our home and business in the devastating Tubbs Fire, their music became something we leaned on during one of the hardest chapters of our lives. It brought hope when we needed it most and reminded us to keep moving forward, one day at a time.
It’s hard to believe it’s been nearly nine years since that October night changed everything. Recovery has been a long road, making it especially meaningful that PALACE FOR THE PEOPLE will be released on October 9, the exact ninth anniversary of the fire. Somehow, it feels fitting that a band whose music helped carry us through that difficult time will once again be providing the soundtrack as we reflect on how far we’ve come.
Following the explosive return of “Play Your Games,” the new track offers another taste of what fans can expect from the band’s next chapter. “Saw You Stand” blends raw emotion with Greta Van Fleet’s signature larger-than-life sound, creating a song that feels both deeply personal and incredibly cinematic. It’s another reminder that the band continues to evolve while staying true to the spirit that has made them one of rock’s most exciting acts.

The announcement comes as Greta Van Fleet prepares to take the stage tonight for a rare, sold-out show at Chicago’s legendary Metro. While the band is no stranger to selling out arenas around the world, this intimate performance marks the beginning of the PALACE FOR THE PEOPLE era in a setting fans won’t soon forget. We are hoping they bring these smaller venue shows to San Francisco as we are ready!
On PALACE FOR THE PEOPLE, Greta Van Fleet explores themes of humanity, connection, resilience, and transcendence through what they describe as their most modern record yet. Recorded in Tennessee during the spring of 2026, the album was co-produced by the band alongside Mike Elizondo (Turnstile, Eminem, Fiona Apple). The group says spending time together away from touring brought them even closer creatively, resulting in some of their strongest and most inspired work to date.
he album’s title has an equally meaningful story behind it. During their sold-out 2022 world tour, the band learned about the history of London’s Alexandra Palace, originally known as “The Palace of the People.” Built as a place where everyone, (not just royalty or the wealthy) could gather, escape, and experience wonder, the idea resonated deeply with the band. That inspiration led them to ask what a “palace for the people” would look like today.
Bassist Sam Kiska comments,
“I can’t tell you how many people have come up to me and said ‘This is my best friend. We met through your music or at your show and we realized, the music is our palace!”
Since emerging from Frankenmuth, Michigan, Greta Van Fleet has continued to establish itself as one of modern rock’s defining bands. Through platinum-selling releases, sold-out tours, and a fearless approach to songwriting, they’ve consistently pushed forward while carving out a sound that is unmistakably their own. PALACE FOR THE PEOPLE looks to be their boldest statement yet.
