Gerard Way kicks off his tour at legendary Fillmore with a stellar performance

October 13, 2014

Gerard Way kicked off his tour in San Francisco earlier this evening at the legendary Fillmore in San Francisco. The iconic venue which is covered in posters and pictures of many of the amazing artists that have graced that very stage such as Foo Fighters, Jim Morrison, Janis, Grateful Dead, Green Day, Slash, just to name a few. This night, the magic and beauty on the stage was created by none other than Gerard Way. The venue was packed and there were fans who waited in line most of the day, as they happily took their place on the barrier in front of the stage. The opening band was The Eeries whom we saw perform at Aftershock Festival. They were awesome and their sound reminded me of a blend of Nirvana and Beck. Check out some killer photos by our Rockin Ryan of their set: Next up was the headline set by Gerard and the crowd went wild in anticipation as the slightest movement on the stage would have them errupt in cheer. Several times [Read More]

Update on We Are Harlot from Jeff George about the new album, his knee, and their Aftershock set!

October 12, 2014

We Are Harlot made their live debut this summer at Rock on the Range and followed up with another kick ass set at Rocklahoma. Did you know that they even set a record for attendance at a band’s first show? Yup, these guys are making history and deservedly so. After playing a show in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel with The Pretty Reckless, it was finally our turn to check out We are Harlot live at Aftershock Festival 2014. Thousands of fans were there as their Harlot cherry was popped with an unforgettable killer set by We Are Harlot. This is a band with years in the making and they have created such a buzz over the past year as everyone is anticipation of their debut album. Earlier this summer, they released their first single, DENIAL and the Harlot frenzy began. The downloads topped over 100,000 downloads in probably the first week, everyone was talking about, it hit the radio and you knew, that nothing could stop the We Are Harlot world domination of [Read More]

Adelita’s Way dominated The Regency Ballroom with an adrenaline fueled set

October 11, 2014

We headed into San Francisco earlier this week for The Pretty Reckless show at The Regency Ballroom. It was the fourth time I have seen them in just a couple years, so what I was really looking forward to; was seeing Adelita’s Way. The first opening band, Falling Through April was great too and I hope you check out our article on them here.  I have been waiting for a while to see them return to the Bay Area and it so happens, that they were the opener for TPR. It was 5 years ago this October, where I first introduced to Adelita’s Way. They were opening for Shinedown and the second they hit the stage, I was completely floored by their killer hard rock! Well, one thing is for sure, Adelita’s Way did it again, they actually exceeded all expectations and delivered a 150% high energetic set that rocked the Regency. This is one band that is well deserving of your full and undivided attention! Vocalist, Rick DeJesus has such an impressive presence that [Read More]

Falling Through April deliver a straight up bad ass set at Regency Ballroom

October 11, 2014

This past week we were at The Regency Ballroom for the Adelita’s Way and The Pretty Reckless show at The Regency Ballroom. I was unfamiliar with the opening band, Falling Through April but that has since changed! After catching their high energy and rockin set, I am definitely hooked. They have an alternative rock style that just captured the crowd from start to finish. Their music has hints of a pop punk style yet with a much more refined rock edge, almost like a blend of early Escape the Fate and AFI.  It is refreshing to see a band forge ahead with their own unique sound and not follow the cookie cutter bands that seemed to perfectly fit into a genre or subgenre checkbox. These guys also have great stage presence as they won over the crowd at The Regency. Falling Through April are from Charlotte, NC and have been around since 2011. I am bummed I haven’t heard of them sooner but am glad I do now. It was nice to see how they [Read More]

Centerlink releases KILLER MUST HAVE 3 song EP Strength in Numbers!

October 11, 2014

Last year we introduced you to what soon became one of our family’s favorite band, Centerlink. A couple days don’t ever go by, where we are not cranking out Distant Voices, Hopes and Dreams or other songs from their CD, All it Takes. This is one metal band that has blown us away and with their latest release of their 3 song EP, Strength In Numbers, they have done it again. The EP brings out their sound which is reminiscent of early Metallica, Megadeth and even a side of Sex Pistols with their last song, Stronger Than Hate. They in no way imitate, instead they are blazing their own trail with their now familiar signature Centerlink sound. If you have been craving more straight up metal that is hard and heavy with fierce guitars, pounding drums and powerful melt your face vocals, then get ready to feel satisfied with Centerlink! The new EP is available for download on their Bandcamp page here: https://centerlink.bandcamp.com/album/strength-in-numbers. We picked up our copy and I hope you download yours! If you like [Read More]
