Adelita’s Way dominated The Regency Ballroom with an adrenaline fueled set

We headed into San Francisco earlier this week for The Pretty Reckless show at The Regency Ballroom. It was the fourth time I have seen them in just a couple years, so what I was really looking forward to; was seeing Adelita’s Way. The first opening band, Falling Through April was great too and I hope you check out our article on them here.  I have been waiting for a while to see them return to the Bay Area and it so happens, that they were the opener for TPR. It was 5 years ago this October, where I first introduced to Adelita’s Way. They were opening for Shinedown and the second they hit the stage, I was completely floored by their killer hard rock! Well, one thing is for sure, Adelita’s Way did it again, they actually exceeded all expectations and delivered a 150% high energetic set that rocked the Regency. This is one band that is well deserving of your full and undivided attention!

Vocalist, Rick DeJesus has such an impressive presence that you are immediately drawn to his infectious energy. The vocals of Rick are powerful and commanding and can bring to life the emotionally driven lyrics with conviction and a large presence. His passion shines through when he sings. He owned that crowd as they played crowd favorites one after another. I truly didn’t want their set to end! Robert Zakarian on guitar was fierce and gave his over the top energy. It was the first time for me to see Andrew Cushing perform with Adelita’s Way and is the perfect. Tre Stafford is a madman on the drums, maintaining his beat while practically juggling his drumsticks! These guys have such a stage presence that completely stole the show.

Check out the photos from their set by our Rockin Ryan:

Adelita’s Way have more upcoming dates and I would strongly urge you to check the list and get yourself to a show. You will be blown away. We are working on bringing an interview with Rick next week, where we talk a lot about the current music scene and how important it is for fans to support live music. Rick has some great points and advice that I hope we all listen to.  Adelita’s Way is pure ROCK n ROLL and it is up to us to keep it alive by going to a show, buying their music, picking up a t-shirt or other merchandise. We can do this together and keep ROCK N ROLL ALIVE!

If you don’t already have it, make sure to pick up their latest release, Stuck which is out on Virgin Records. This album is the much anticipated follow up to their 2011 release of Home School Valedictorian. Stuck was produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Deftones, Evanescence). The first single off the album, Dog on a Leash garnered a lot of attention as it climbed the Active Rock charts. These days hard rock tends to have the genre lines blurred and a spilling over from metal or hardcore which is great if you are looking for that. But when you want a straight up hard rock album with fierce guitars, powerful vocals, anthem rock songs, even throw in a sweet ass ballad, then look no further.

Head over to iTunes and pick up your copy of Stuck. It is from start to finish a great well crafted hard rock album that is deserving of your attention. While you are at it, make sure to pick up the Deluxe Version so you don’t miss out, especially one of my fave tracks, What You Are. Check out the lyric video for their song, Save the World here:
