VAMPIRES EVERYWHERE! kick off tour with Filter and Orgy with a fierce set in San Francisco!

April 14, 2016

Los Angeles rockers VAMPIRES EVERYWHERE are back and we just can’t get enough of them. Last night, they kicked off their tour with Filter and Orgy for the “Make America Hate Again Tour” in San Francisco at Slim’s. Just last month they released their new album, Ritual and now they are trekking out on a 30 date North American tour in support of the album. The tour kicked off last night and it was a great success! From the second they hit the stage, the energy was ablaze and the crowd was ready to ROCK! They not only delivered a kick ass set with many songs off their latest album, but even pulled out an old one for those long time fans. Their cover of Hozier’s “Take Me To Church” was eclectic and stellar. Michael Vampire has quite a charismatic stage presence that draws in the crowd and gets them moving. His vocals are not only powerful, but deliver a throaty sultry edge that is equally mesmerizing. Matti Hoffman was shredding like a madman on guitar [Read More]

BottleRock Napa Featured Band of the Day is Gogol Bordello

April 14, 2016

Today our BottleRock Napa Featured Band of the Day is Gogol Bordello. Gogol Bordello will definitely be bringing the party to BottleRock this year with their free spirited gypsy punk music. The band brilliantly fuses together a multitude of influences and cultures into one of the most vibrant and eclectic sounds of today. They have just announced a tour with Frank Turner and The Sleeping Souls as well as a date at the UC Theatre in Berkeley. Make sure to visit their socials to stay up to date on all of their touring news. About their album Pura Vida Conspiracy, “I’ve come full circle and I’m comfortable being a total outsider,” says Gogol Bordello’s Eugene Hutz, explaining the philosophy behind the band’s new album, Pura Vida Conspiracy. Like everything they’ve ever done, this outing is an uncategorizable blend of international influences, anchored by the gypsy rhythms Hutz grew up with in Ukraine. “Most people are looking for a box to put stuff in,” he says. “I try to avoid it. The message of this record [Read More]

NOFX kicks off The Hepatits Bathtub Tour in Berkeley and PUNK ROCK is alive and thriving!

April 13, 2016

For a Tuesday night in Berkeley, it was anything but quiet as NOFX kicked off “The Hepatitis Bathtub Tour”. The tour which coincides with the release of their new book, The Hepatitis Bathtub and Other Stories will be hitting venues across the county.  We caught the opening show at the UC Theatre in Berkeley and it was unbelievable! The night kicked off with three fantastic punk rock sets. First up was the punk band from Santa Cruz, Fast Asleep. They kicked the show off with a frenzy of raging punk songs that got the crowd riled up within seconds! They had a thrash metal influence in their punk rock that I loved as well. Check out some photos of their set: Next up was the kick ass punk band, Mean Jeans out of Portland, Oregon. They delivered a nice dose of old school punk rock that had me craving more of them. We picked up their 7″ at the show and can’t wait to get their other vinyls. Direct Hit! from Milwaukee came up next and the venue [Read More]

BottleRock Napa Featured Band of the Day is Fantastic Negrito

April 13, 2016

Today our BottleRock Napa Featured Band of the Day is Fantastic Negrito. Fantastic Negrito brings true honest emotion through the Blues Rock and Black Roots Music. Each song is a true story about a musician from Oakland and the music will touch your soul and awaken your senses. “Each song is a true story about a musician from Oakland who experienced the highs of a million dollar record deal, the lows of a near fatal car accident that put him in a coma, and is now in the phase of rebirth despite his playing hand being mangled. Negrito’s music emphasizes rawness and space. Slide guitar, drums, piano. Rather than update the Delta Blues, Fantastic Negrito leaves the original sounds of Lead Belly and Skip James intact, building bridges to a modern sound with loops and samples of his own live instruments. But the primary element that drives Fantastic Negrito’s music is uncut realness and zero concern for “pop” anything.” So make sure not to miss them playing at the Miner Family Winery Stage on Friday, May [Read More]

Interview with the awe-inspiring Lacey Sturm as she sets out on tour and captivates crowds.

April 12, 2016

Sunday night at the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma was a magical one. We were excited for the arrival of Lacey Sturm, who is out on tour with Otep, September Mourning, Doll Skin and Through Fire. The legendary Phoenix Theater which was named after rising from the ashes after several fires in it’s history, served as the perfect backdrop for such an amazing night of inspiring music by Lacey. She has embarked on tour in support of her solo album, Life Screams which was released in February 2016. It is not only a bad ass hard rockin album, but it is a musical gem gleaming with honest raw emotionally driven tracks that have the power to help, heal or inspire the listener. Lacey creates a solid connection to the listener and brings a light to those who might be in a dark place. This album is one of my favorites and to see her perform live on Sunday, was spellbinding and uplifting. We had the chance to chat with Lacey before her set and are pleased to bring [Read More]

Interview with The Dreamers as they finish up one tour and ready to head out on another tour

April 12, 2016

The Dreamers have been quite busy touring and it doesn’t seem to have much slow down in site. We caught them on Saturday night as they closed out their Spring tour with the Arkells and The Karma Killers in San Francisco at the Social Hall. It was our first time at the venue which houses itself in the lower section of the Regency Ballroom.  It is a great venue that captures the energy and spirit of the bands.  First up was The Karma Killers who we were first introduced to last year at Warped Tour. They came out and got the crowd rockin with their punk infused rock. Next up the Arkells brought a fun spirited set to the final night of tour with everything from Elton John medley to crowd favorite sing-alongs. The Dreamers came out and finished off the night with their cosmic rock. They had the crowd energized and fueled, as the dancing became nonstop. Their feel good music is infectious and a mood elevator! For a band of three, their sound [Read More]
