Non-stop rockers Modern Kicks release new video for Guitars and Girls

June 21, 2017

Our Spotlight is shining bright on one of our favorite bands; Modern Kicks.  These Bay Area rockers continue to garner high praise for delivering nonstop rock n roll, reminiscent of  70’s punk/rock era.  They are exactly what we have all been missing from the music scene. Straight up rock with punk rock edge and an attitude that doesn’t quit. They are in no way imitating an old sound, they have worked to create their own signature sound and we are hooked! They are gearing up for an album release and to get you revved up, they have released a music video for their kick ass track, Guitars and Girls. The song just screams Rock and you can’t help but crank it up loud! Sweet guitar riffs, addictive vocals and infectious melodies capture your attention from start to finish. Check out the video here: Did you catch our Rockin Ryan in the video? Hell yeah! CMT premieres Kiefer Sutherland’s Shirley Jean video

June 21, 2017

Kiefer Sutherland’s cinematic “Shirley Jean” video, which tells the story of a man’s last night on death row, taking the form of a goodbye letter to a woman he once loved, premieres on CMT channels and platforms June 21.  You can check out the video here: “It was the one song on the album that obviously was not a very personal story from my own life,” Sutherland tells Rolling Stone Country. “I had a huge respect for Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard. These guys wrote about the dirtier side of life and the tougher aspects of life. Cash realized he wasn’t a ‘bad guy,’ and that maybe some of these people in prison aren’t ‘bad guys.’ He gave them a kind of dignity that I really respected. He created an avenue of forgiveness that I don’t think was as available at that time. I love the way he did that. So I really wanted to write a song about that.” Sutherland is currently in Europe playing sold out shows after a nationwide U.S. tour [Read More]

VIDEO: Watch the new video from Nashville TV star and singer/songwriter Riley Smith

June 21, 2017

Time to get hooked on the new song from Nashville TV Star and singer/songwriter Riley Smith. He has just released a video for his great new track, I’m On Fire which was co-written by Matthew Perryman Jones and Tim Lauer (Hank Williams, Shawn Mendes, Blake Shelton). Check out the video below: The song is off his forthcoming self titled EP which will be released on July 21st and is produced by Kevin Leach. Smith describes the EP as ‘loaner music’, “there’s a common theme of distance and space running through the EP. There’s a longing and yearning to the music. Lonesome at times”. This relatable desire for closeness will inspire audiences to not feel alone, to feel understood in the world and realize that there are others who are feeling the same. Smith declares “I want the EP to hopefully transcend to anyone who’s ever felt alone”.   More about the EP and Riley: The five song EP is inspired by his time in Nashville and is relative to feelings and emotions he had whilst living in such a compelling yet isolating city. Smith explains how time and [Read More]

Citizen Soldier continues to release powerful music, check out their new song Let It Burn

June 21, 2017

Earlier this month we shared a great song from Citizen Soldier which dealt with the struggle of mental illness. The alternative rock band has released another powerful track, Let It Burn. The song is the new single off their EP Caroline, and it could be the song that helps someone who is contemplating suicide.     The lyrics grab a hold of you and embraces the listener and fills them with a light of hope. The vocals carry such raw emotion as they plead with the listener to Let it Burn, and to feel the release of all those things that haunt them and created the sense of despair. It is empowering, uplifting and will be a true lifeline for some. Please take a listen and share the song with others who may need to  hear the message it brings. Citizen Soldier continues to impress us with their meaningful music. In a world where so many are focused on themselves, it is quite refreshing to hear a band that delivers emotionally driven lyrics carrying messages of [Read More]
