Blood Youth release brand new track “Something To Numb The Pain”

September 21, 2021

Following the release of recent singles “Colony3” and “Body of Wire”, Blood Youth have unleashed another blast of heaviness in new track, “Something to Numb the Pain”. The contemporary metal four-piece once again combine their metallic hardcore sound with technical proficiency and a stellar sense of melody. As a result, “Something to Numb the Pain” expertly balances between riffs, soloing and seething screams before launching into ephemeral vocal lines primed to light up their live set. “’Something To Numb The Pain’ was one of the first songs written/composed for the new album. We wrote the outro riff whilst on tour in soundcheck in Germany and I ended up just slotting the rest of the song around it. We wanted to tap into a more classic Blood Youth structure/format whilst implementing new elements like solos, synths, drum patterns and vocal ranges. The song’s lyrical theme touches a lot on the subject of fake people. As a band we’re sick and tired of watching people in this industry and the new bands pop up that aren’t in [Read More]

September 21, 2021

Meanwhile, the group details their newly-formed worldwide management and booking team below. “It has an unwavering confidence to it” Banks Arcade vocalist Joshua O’Donnell declares of “Don’t Start”. “The song is aimed at those who try to tear us down behind closed doors but would never have the guts to front up and say something in person. It also speaks to the fact that most people talking shit the loudest are only doing it because they are threatened by you. It’s important to back yourself and not get too caught up on what others say”. “We are all trying to do this life thing right and we have [Read More]

Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains releases new song and video “Brighten”

September 10, 2021

Iconic singer, songwriter, guitarist, and Alice In Chains co-founder Jerry Cantrell today announces the release of the title track from his new LP Brighten. The full LP will be released on October 29, 2021 and is available for pre-order and pre-save HERE. Talking about “Brighten”, Jerry says, “Pretty early on, I knew “Brighten” was the cornerstone track of the album, and it seemed to fit the body of work as a title. There’s plenty of darkness and edge, but there’s also some light, space, and good vibes.” The video, directed by Gilbert Trejo, son of renowned actor Danny Trejo, is loosely based on the fabled “Lotus Eaters” from Homer’s Odyssey. It depicts a story of a man having a psychedelic experience as a result of eating flowers; a “Lotus Eater” is a person who spends their time indulging in instant gratification, pleasure and luxury rather than dealing with anything practical. The story is interspersed with an impassioned live performance from Jerry, Tyler Bates on bass, Greg Puciato on backing vocals and guitar, drummer Abe Laboriel [Read More]

Blood Command introduce new single “The End Is Her”

September 9, 2021

Self-proclaimed Death-Pop-band Blood Command released a new song today. “The End Is Her” is the second single with their new singer Nikki Brumen (ex-Pagan) on Hassle Records. You can stream the song here. Blood Command mastermind Yngve Andersen comments: “”The End Is Her” is for the losers, the outcasts and for the people, that never really belong. It’s a song about the feeling of being invisible, that no matter how loud you scream, nobody hears you. For everyone, that burns so bright, but noone else sees a spark of the flame. I have written the lyrics at a time, when I felt weak and alone, but I used this darkness as ammunition to get stronger. One never knows, what goes on in somebodys head or what he’s capable of. That’s why I want to remind the people with this song, never to underestimate the outcasts. That we have the ability to use the doubts of others, to ignite something in us – to ignite a match and set the world on fire. It felt right, [Read More]

Invent Animate sign to UNFD and announce new EP

September 9, 2021

Fresh from a string of US signings including Hollow Front, Vatican, Sleep Waker and Moodring, UNFD is now pleased to welcome fellow US heavy mainstays Invent Animate to the roster. Today’s signing news is bolstered by the announcement of the band’s new EP “The Sun Sleeps, As If It Never Was” and the reveal of its first single “The Sun Sleeps”. Out in full September 23, the EP finds Invent Animate opening up a powerful discourse on the ricochet effect of trauma and addiction. Searingly close to drummer Trey Celaya and his family’s story navigating a drug addiction crisis, it comprises a one-two punch of songs describing both perspectives of this tragic and deeply painful scenario. The first track, today’s “The Sun Sleeps” sheds light on the story from the perspective of the drug affected, meanwhile the accompanying “As If It Never Was” explores the view of those left reeling in the sphere of impact of drug addiction. Speaking of “The Sun Sleeps”, Trey shares: “We wanted to explore both sides of a deeply painful [Read More]

State Champs drop new single “Outta My Head”

September 8, 2021

Fresh off their epic return to live performance at Slam Dunk in the UK over the weekend, New York pop-rockers State Champs have dropped their latest high-energy single “Outta My Head” for fans. The video premiered alongside a live chat with the band last night. “’Outta My Head’ is a faster, nostalgic, rooty one for us. Drawing inspiration from the early 2000’s, we tried to execute an ear wormy energetic tune that could have easily been heard on the American Pie movies soundtrack, or other rom coms alike”, shares lead vocalist Derek DiScanio. “If you’re not singing the chorus by the third time it comes around, well, just hit the replay button, I suppose”. State Champs have always embraced the idea of getting their music in front of as many people as possible. They aren’t running away from the sound they’ve established; if anything, it’s that scrappy punk spirit that drives them to continue to reach further and further. They’ve done pop arena tours, metal tours; they’ve even played a show on a beach. Wherever [Read More]

We Came As Romans share video for “Black Hole”

September 8, 2021

We Came As Romans have shared the video for their brand new single “Black Hole”, featuring Beartooth’s Caleb Shomo. “‘Black Hole’ was the very last song that we wrote for the record”, the band says. “We had this idea of what we wanted it to sound like, and we wrote a bunch of music for it throughout our time in L.A. But we were never really satisfied with what we created. With only a week left in the studio, we had finally created something that we were all stoked about — and it was time to put a message to the song”. Stephens continues: “The lyrics to ‘Black Hole’ are about dealing with the anxiety that you feel going through life. For me, at the time, the anxiety I was feeling in dealing with loss and the grieving process. But we wanted to leave the song open ended enough for our fans to relate to, with anything they were going through. That anxiety is sometimes so crushing, and so heavy, and you have to deal [Read More]
