Boston Manor release new single & video for “Desperate Pleasures”

October 27, 2021

Blackpool’s Boston Manor have today released their new single ‘Desperate Pleasures’. The track features on a new EP ‘Desperate Times Desperate Pleasures’, which will be released this Friday 29 October via SharpTone Records. “It’s a song about generational change,” says the band’s vocalist Henry Cox on the new single. “I think the pandemic brought out some good in people but it also brought out a lot of nastiness. I saw a lot of appalling behaviour over the last 18 months & it made me feel quite depressed. As soon as people are placed under difficult circumstances they should come together, not start lashing out & taking everything for themselves. I guess this song is me hoping that things will get better.” ‘Desperate Times Desperate Pleasures’ marks a concerted step into the future for Boston Manor. It’s the coining of a bold, bright new sound, building upon the bruising pop-punk of their earlier work, the big moves of last album ‘GLUE’, to compose music that’s both heavier and more unabashedly accessible than that which preceded it. A Will Away announce new album and share new single/video for “Karma”

October 27, 2021

A Will Away are proud to announce the forthcoming new album “Stew”, due out February 18th on Rude Records. Today, the band shares the brand new single and music video “Karma”, filmed at a high school not far from where the band members grew up in Connecticut. According to director Brent Campanelli, “‘Karma’ is a cinematic coming of age film, sonically driven by a timeless anthem, where the viewer sees through the eyes of both student and teacher, as they’re taught life’s coldest lesson”. That lesson, according to A Will Away, is the relatable truth that “sometimes karma comes from out of nowhere and kicks you in the ass”. Sonically, the song lightens the mood with full-on anthemic Rock n’ Roll energy, replete with epic guitar solos and harmonic vocals powerful enough to knock listeners out of whatever rut they might be in. “Karma” is the latest song to be released from A Will Away’s new album “Stew”. Joining earlier pre-album announcement singles “Spittin’ Chiclets” and “Re-Up”. As with past efforts, “Stew” continues A Will [Read More]

Silent Planet release new video for “Anhedonia”

October 26, 2021

Metal band Silent Planet has released a new static video for “Anhedonia”, a brand new track taken from their upcoming new album “Iridescent” out November 12th via UNFD. “Terminal was another song from this album that was inspired by my stay in a mental hospital” says frontman Garrett Russell. “For most of my life I have been a very sober person, and this song is about my experience with mind-altering medications while being in-patient. As I took my meds, I watched the world shift around me, and even my own reflection started to shift. I was met with strange visions and imagery, some of which was congruent with ancient mythology. It was during all of this that I began to wonder if the hopelessness was buried too deep for medications to solve on their own. Maybe, I wondered, this is simply the human condition. But above all, I hope the listener understands that our albums are meant to be understood as whole pieces, and while this song is certainly coming from my genuine experience with [Read More]

Social Animals share new single “Adults”

October 26, 2021

After 1 1/2 years, US Indie-Wave-Rockers Social Animals released their new song “Adults” via Rise/BMG today. “I’ve written this song about the moment, in which you realize, that all your friends are now grown-up and you still look for a lift on Tuesday night”, comments singer Dedric Clark on the track. “Now they have something to say about it and you have to decide, wether you want to listen to it or not.” The Duluth, Minnesota-based band stayed active through the pandemic, wrote new music, and curated shows for live streams on Earmilk, Bandsintown, Dork’s Homeschool Festival and other platforms to present their music. Before the pandemic, Social Animals have been constantly touring – they were direct support to labelmates Angels & Airwaves for US tour dates, followed by a European tour with Ash, which unfortunately had to be cancelled due to the crisis. They are working on new music right now, which will be released soon. Moon Tooth release new song & video for “Nymphaeaceae”

October 26, 2021

Moon Tooth, the Long Island-based foursome whose 2019 album, Crux, landed on year-end, Top 10 lists from both Pitchfork and Rolling Stone, release “Nymphaeaceae” (https://smarturl.it/MoonToothMusic) an early preview of what’s to come on the band’s highly-anticipated follow-up. “The ‘Nymphaeaceae’ music video concept grew directly from John’s lyrics. The title is the scientific name for water lilies,” explains guitar player/songwriter Nick Lee of the Tom Flynn directed video. “They grow from the murky bottom of a pond up to the surface of the water and then continue to flower up towards the sun. That journey is represented by the main character’s struggle in the video. You can compare it to different struggles in life but the idea in this video and in the lyrics speak more specifically to growing through hardships, bettering yourself and finding a true partner. Sticking it out with them through any kind of hardship.” “If you’ve found a purpose in life, there’s no greater peace than immersing yourself in that purpose. That’s what I felt the morning I wrote this song, when I [Read More]

Every Time I Die – New video for “Thing With Feathers”

October 25, 2021

Hardcore-heroes Every Time I Die released their long-awaited 9th studio record “Radical” last Friday. To celebrate the release, the band also shared a new video for the song “Thing With Feathers”. Produced by Brandon Dermer (White Reaper, Panic! At The Disco, Diplo) the video shows the disappearance of frontman Keith Buckley and the epic performance of the band in front of the Los Angeles skyline. Produced and mixed by Will Putney (Acacia Strain, Body Count, The Amity Affliction), “Radical” is a 16-track high-class album from ETID, alchemized by a marshy incantation of Southern Rock and rough poetry, the music whirls under sardonic and clever puns and cements the band as leaders, not followers. Though they were inspired by the unrest and upheavals of the past five years, “Radical” concentrates more on humanity, decency, self-esteem, and even a little bit of spirituality than on politics. “This time I concentrate on difficult matters, which are not only personal to me, they are also universal and common experiences”, explains Keith. “The songs are insofar realistic, as they approve, [Read More]

October 25, 2021

Last weekend AZ-based band The Word Alive shared the news of the departure of co-founding member Tony Pizzuti (guitar) and Matt Horn (drums). The band released the following statement: Dear TWA Family, For the last 18+ months we’ve dreamed of reuniting on stage to perform for you all. It is in that spirit that we announce a lineup change to The Word Alive. It’s bitter sweet because while we’ve loved every special memory we share w/ both Tony/Matt & couldn’t have made it this far without their dedication & passion for the band, to our message & the fans first & foremost, we must support their decision to pursue other opportunities life has presented them. We have so much love for them as it is w/ any previous member of The Word Alive, our goal is to always push forward with [Read More]
