Interview with John Easdale of DRAMARAMA

August 16, 2013

Music has been my passenger on my rollercoaster ride of my life, with my during my highs and there to comfort me during my lows. No matter what mood I was in, music was always there to share in the moment. So many times when someone mentions an artist or a band, I can go back and remember the first time I heard them or how I was introduced to their music. I literally was fresh out of high school and loved a variety of styles of music. I would rock out to RATT as we went cruising the El Camino, go to a Hank Williams Jr. concert in the summer, dance to pop music in the nightclubs, and enjoyed a lot of New Wave and Mod.  But there was this one friend I worked with name Jane but we called her [Read More]

Papa Roach cancels South American tour due to Jacoby’s strained vocal chords

August 7, 2013

Vocal issues have plagued lead singer Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach for some time now. It was last year that he spoke about a node forming on his vocal chord and which eventually led him to  have surgery. He successfully recovered from that surgery and has gone on to kick ass at shows with his incredible voice. He truly is one of my favorite vocalists! Papa Roach just released a statement announcing suspension of their South American tour dates due to Jacoby Shaddix’s strained vocal chords. Here is the post from their Facebook page: “To our fans in South America, we are sorry to say our tour is canceled. Jacoby is having vocal issues, and has been ordered to rest. We will be rescheduling the tour for next year. – Jerry” It was not long for fans to show their shock, support and even some quite rude and irrational comments that led to Jacoby himself adding this post: “TO ALL THE SOUTH AMERICAN FANS……. I write this with a heavy heart. I have read a [Read More]

the GazettE from JAPAN is our Tuesday Travels Band

August 6, 2013

Get ready for some great ROCK N ROLL from JAPAN!! Today’s Tuesdays Travels takes us to a band that started back in 2002 in Kanagawa, Japan. The GazettE is described as visual kei rock which has been characterized by the use of varying levels of make-up, elaborate hair styles and flamboyant costumes, often, but not always, coupled with androgynous aesthetics.  Well whatever it is I really LOVE the sound of The GazettE.  They will be releasing a  new single, “Fadeless” on August 21st and a new album sometime in October. Check out a video for their song, Remember the Urge:   The GazettE features  the vocals and rhythm guitar of Ruki (ルキ), guitar by Uruha (麗), acoustic guitar and backing vocals by Aoi (葵), bass and piano by Reita (れいた) and drums and backing vocals by Kai (戒).  They are also embarking on a World Tour that is selling out as quickly as the tickets are being sold.
