Day 24 on our NAMM Countdown: Emily Faith to perform on NAMM Hilton Stage

December 24, 2016

Day 24 we invite you to check out Emily Faith as she performs on the NAMM Hilton Stage on Thursday, January 19th at 11:00 AM. At first glance, Emily Faith might seem like many other typical teen girls – growing up in a small town; spending her time attending school, playing basketball, cheerleading, and working with her church youth group.   But a closer look will reveal that she is anything but typical.  Blessed with an extraordinary voice and love for music she began entertaining at a very young age.  Unlike many teen artist who stick with one style of music – she began exploring and embracing many different musical genres at an early age; which led to the development of her own unique style – a mix of Pop, Country, and Americana.  Music professionals have pushed her to define her style into one genre.  She quickly and politely responds to them; “I am starting out my career as a cross over artist – I don’t want to be defined by one particular [Read More]

Day 25 on our NAMM Countdown: Throwback to conversation conversation with bluesman David M’Ore: Passion, Soul and Fire.

December 23, 2016

(Anaheim, CA) Guitar pyrotechnics are no longer rare in blues or rock these days.  Most lead guitarists can and do shred hot licks in the middle of blues and rock songs, giving audiences a bit of an electric thrill. But there is a difference between hot and heavy guitar shredding and chops that come from the heart and not just the fingers. One delivers electricity, the other delivers emotion along with the energy.  This is what David M’Ore does;  he delivers 6-string heart and lightening like no one else. His guitar playing and his corrugated voice encapsulate decades of blues, rock, R&B, acid, metal – everything about music that pierces the heart as well as the muscles.  You can dance to M’Ore’s blues, but you can also meditate to them.   Some call him a mystical guitar man from a bygone era. But this Argentine-born, world-raised virtuoso guitarist and singer/songwriter is in many ways on the cutting edge of the modern blues movement. He has created a blues style with his custom-made Fender Strats  that [Read More]

Day 26 on our NAMM Countdown: Throwback to conversation with Doña Oxford, Queen of Boogie-woogie and Goddess of Soul.

December 22, 2016

Dona Oxford was excited.  Oxford is known for being excited about her music, but this time she was excited because she had just introduced me to Ray Kurzweil at the NAMM 2016 Kurzweil electric keyboard booth where, the day before, Stevie Wonder had shown up, sat down at the keyboard Oxford  had just vacated and started to play for the assembled crowd.  But she was even more excited about the fact that later in evening she would be playing for Wonder at the Kurzweil Private party. “He touched my sweat on the keys! Stevie Wonder touched my sweat on the keys,’ she exclaimed, “and now I will be playing for him”. But that is a common story for Oxford, known to her legions of fans as the Queen of Boogie-woogie and the Princess of Soul. Many, many greats have asked her to play for them on stage, in the recording studio and on tour.  Her keyboard chops (she also plays drums), her energy, her voice and her songwriting have been recognized over and over [Read More]
