Tom Keifer is on Solid Ground with his new album, The Way Life Goes

July 30, 2013

Growing up in the 70’s/80’s, I listened to a LOT of ROCK n ROLL. One of my favorite bands from the 80’s was the Philadelphia based blues rock band CINDERELLA. I went to many of their concerts to just to hear the raspy, distinctive gritty voice of Tom Keifer. His vocals were incredible and always drew me to their music.  Tom had suffered some nodules on his vocal chords and at one time, left him unsure if we was going to ever be able to sing again.  Tom has succeeded in treating his issues with his vocal chords and continues to amaze us with his powerful and amazing voice. Earlier this year, Tom released his solo record, The Way Life Goes on Merovee Records (through WMG ILG) and went out on the first part of his tour in support of the album. Tom has two singles out from this spectacular album, Solid Ground and The Flower Song.  We are excited to bring you our interview with Tom Keifer. * * * * * * * [Read More]

Iconic artist and Grammy winning guitarist SLASH is set to release on October 4th, a soundtrack album for his first co-produced horror film by his production company SLASHER FILMS, Nothing Left to Fear.   The original motion picture soundtrack has been written and produced by SLASH and Nick O’Toole. In addition to film score it will include the original song, “Nothing Left to Fear” that features vocalist Myles Kennedy. “It’s been equally intriguing for me to be involved with producing, writing and performing the music in NOTHING  LEFT TO FEAR. Film scoring prompts me to engage different styles of writing and guitar playing that don’t always present themselves when I make Rock n Roll records.” –SLASH Fans of SLASH will be able to get the album exclusively through PledgeMusic/Slash as well as other perks like interviews, video clips, signed vinyls, signed posters, merchandise and much more.  The movie will be released in select theaters on October 4th as well as Blue-Ray, DVD and On-Demand. Most anticipated CD Release, Sway by Blue October

July 25, 2013

With less than a month away, I am having a hard time containing my excitement for what is my most anticipated album release. Their seventh studio album “Sway” by Blue October is set to release on August 20th and it is definitely one I have been anxiously waiting for.  I have been a long time lover of Blue October and their emotionally driven music that truly has a life of its own. Their music has been there for me in my darkest times as well as my most celebrated moments. They are like that true friend that is always there for you; whether it is to ride out the storms or admire the beauty of the rainbows.  You can’t call us fans of their music, because once you fall in love with their music, you become a family.  I can’t tell you how  many times I have heard from people about how Blue October changed their lives, helped them through their deepest struggles, kept them going and inspired them to be a better person.  I [Read More]

Some Fear None, A must see band from Sacramento!

July 25, 2013

Sacramento, CA rockers, Some Fear None have a new CD out that you have to get your hands onto and your ears listening! I first saw this incredible rock band over a  years ago as they opened up for Burn Halo and Smile Empty Soul. We were blown away by the energy these rockers bring to the stage. You have powerful vocals by Nathan Giguiere, intense guitar work by Chuck Carrasco, slamming bass by Gina Salatino and pounding drums by Jason Weisker. You put these four together and you are completely captivated by their unique rock sound that blends everything from metal to alternative, to grunge and more. Their debut CD, “Break Hold and Elevate” is a work of art as you get a fusion of sounds reminiscent of early Deftones, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden as well as other bands like Three Days Grace, Seether, and more. They truly have created their own unique sound and don’t try to put themselves into any particular genre or subgenre of music. They do what they are best at, [Read More]

Violent Soho is back with “Hungry Ghost”

July 24, 2013

Let me refresh your memories about a band that I have loved for several years. I first encountered them as I moved from San Mateo to Santa Rosa (wine country in Northern California). It was a hard move for our family and we felt like we were so far away from everything, San Francisco nightlife, trips to LA, the whole music scene. But then two weeks after moving here, we ended up at the local Best Buy as they had a live concert with a band from Australia that was to perform. A Rock/Alternative/Grunge band!! We were so excited as we waited the two hours and then got to watch the most intense energy driven band perform in this small 10 x 10 area of Best Buy. There might have been maybe a 100 customers and these guys performed at 150%, as if they were performing for a stadium! It was intense. Here is the video of their big hit, “Jesus Stole my Girlfriend” that day and the band is Violent Soho:     Well [Read More]
