We know the holidays can be quite overwhelming as we all try to meet the expectations in our head of how things should go. But there is also something magical about this time of year. It reminds me of my favorite quote from the 1970’s Christmas classic, “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”
Poor, misguided folks. They missed the whole point. Lot’s of unhappiness? Maybe so. But doesn’t Santa take a little bit of that unhappiness away? Doesn’t a smile on Christmas morning scratch out a tear cried on a sadder day? Not much maybe. But what would happen if we all tried to be like Santa and learned to give as only he can give: of ourselves, our talents, our love and our hearts? Maybe we could all learn Santa’s beautiful lesson and maybe there would finally be peace on Earth and good will toward men.
I still get choked up every time I hear that. It just gives us all hope that things can get better and if we just take the time to spread some goodwill, we can see the magic take over. Boston singer songwriter Jeff Michael’s is ready to spread some holiday cheer with his new song, Green n’ Red. He also has a beautiful animated video featuring everyone getting along and playing, even the penguins and snowmen are getting into the spirit. Check out the track here:
Speaking about the track Michaels says,
“One of the things I’ve learned time and time again is that music has the ability to heal, and this year it seems our little country needs a lot of healing. No matter what side of the political spectrum you are on, November was tough for all of us. Facebook and Twitter turned into a war zone, with strangers yelling at each other and a lot of people forgot that we’re all in this together… it’s time we get the Green n’ Red out and put those memories behind us, and look for a brighter 2017!”
Now it is up to you to spread some of that holiday cheer! You can grab a free download of the song right here and get started!
