ZZ Ward wraps up The Storm tour on a sea of love in LA. By Patrick O’Heffernan

March 14, 2018

Patrick O’Heffernan (Hollywood) Pure, unconditional love.  That is the only way to describe the sold-out crowd at the last concert of  ZZ Ward’s Storm Tour in the Fonda Theater Thursday night.  Many of those fans had traveled hundreds of miles to see her and they let her know how much they loved her.  And Ward returned the love many times over.   Striding on stage after a killer set by Black Pistol Fire, rocking her signature Fedora, studded black leather low rider pants and a skin colored sleeveless top, Ward launched into “Let It Burn” with an intensity that got the audience screaming in the first verse.  When she pulled out her harmonica the screaming went nonstop. Moving from “Let it Burn” to “Ghost” and then onto “Put the Gun Down” with her acoustic guitar, the blues rock goddess’s country-curl rock voice vibrated all the way to the back row of the packed balcony.   Power and confidence flowed from the stage and loved flowed back. That love has been building since 2012 when she [Read More]

Spotlight shines on Bonelang for their celestial new video, Mushroom Moon

July 11, 2017

The spotlight is shining on Bonelang as they release a celestial powerful new music video for Mushroom Moon. The alternative duo have successfully delivered a fusion of hip-hop, soulful lyrics, electronic and alt-rock. The break-up style song captures a depth of emotion and a raw honest vulnerability can be felt with each spoken word. You can’t help but be drawn to this genre-defying track. Samy Language comments about the song, “‘Mushroom Moon’ is a breakup song. It started as a deep house track but after three years of molding, it has turned into what you are hearing in this video. Everyone knows heartache and how all-consuming it can feel. Here, these elemental emotions are placed in a cosmic yet intimate setting. Common wisdom will tell you that the vastness of space would seem to make us insignificant in comparison; perhaps instead the fact that we’re the only known entities capable of such breathtaking sorrow makes our small corner of the universe the most remarkable. Our intent in one sentence would be to establish purpose behind [Read More]

They will be performing at a benefit concert for The Schoolbox Project, a nonprofit organization that provides mobile, trauma informed education, art and play to children in refugee camps throughout Greece. Head over to Ticketweb and pick up your tickets!  Check out the show details below from the Event page: Many years ago, it was decided that these three entities would never, I mean NEVER come together in one room, for fear that the sheer brilliance of the resulting chemistry and musicality would be so intense that the principles of molecular cohesion would fail to exist and everything would just float away from everything. But now its 2017, frankly things aren’t going very well anyway and it is for a great cause. So, we might as well just do it. *Show will take place in the breathtaking upstairs ballroom of the historic Napa Valley Opera House *Cash bar, you guys. Bring [Read More]

Ramonda Hammer releases new alt-grunge-rock single, Bender and we are hooked on it!

June 28, 2017

We are hooked on the new track, Bender from Ramonda Hammer. It is an addictive track that brings together grunge and rock and swaddles it in 90’s alternative vibes and singes it with pop catchiness. We love it! The song is off their new EP Destroyers which is set for an August 4th release. Devin Davis comments about the new song, “I wrote ‘Bender’ when I was binge-watching Shameless for two weeks straight and I couldn’t get off the couch to do anything productive. In retrospect, I guess I could call it “research” or whatever, because I ended up writing this song. But yeah the lyrics are really just a conversation between two opposing sides in one’s brain. The verses ask questions from the more sane, healthy part of one’s psyche, and the choruses respond from the anxiety-ridden, depressed, and very frustrated side. And the reason this person (okay, it’s me!) is so effing frustrated is because they care so so so much, but when crippling depression sets in from time to time, when they [Read More]
