NiteRain release new single “The Threat” from upcoming album

February 21, 2014

Last year we introduced you to NiteRain as one of Tuesdays Travels.  Here is an excerpt from that post: “This week, I have incredible ’80s inspired rock band from Oslo, Norway as our Tuesdays Travels Pick.  They are NiteRain and they have an amazing sound. Their music reminds me of catching early Motley Crue out on the Sunset Strip in the ’80s.  Early Vince Neil style vocals, Kick ass guitar riffs, slamming bass and energetic drums. Together you have the intense rock n roll of NiteRain.” NiteRain is Adrien Persen on Guitar, Sebastian Tvedtnaes on Vocals, Morten Garberg on Drums and Frank Karlsen on Bass. They have been known to have explosive stage presence and deliver high velocity sleaze rock. These guys are definitely in the running to take over the glam sleaze rock scene! They have had great success in touring with L.A. Guns across Europe and we hope they come out here to the US soon. Their glam infused rock is just as contagious as their fierce energy and is something we need. You [Read More]

It is a complete full on ROCK n ROLL  album that will soon become one of your favorites. “Alive at Night” was produced, mixed, and mastered by Nick Bellmore (Drummer of Toxic Holocaust and Kingdom Of Sorrow) at Dexter’s Lab Recording Studio  You can pick it up NOW  on Itunes here. The first song is the title track, “Alive at Night” and starts right off with their energetic rock, bad ass chorus and amazing guitar work. It is a great anthemic rock song. You also have their single we previously shared with you, “Who Are You?” Bassist Ed Mandevil told us more about the song, “The song is about asking the listener who they really are. There are so many fakes and phoneys out there and we’re a bit tire of it!”  The song has a bad ass bass intro, vocals are edgy yet mysterious, love the backing vocals, great guitar solo [Read More]

Day 9 of 12 Days of Bands You Have to Know goes to Road Crew

December 17, 2013

Day 9 of our 12 Days of Bands You Have to Know goes to Road Crew from Santa Rosa. Road Crew maybe a local band but they have their eyes on the big Rock’n Roll prize.  They have a big sound that from the first time I heard them, I had my faith restored in music and now know that Rock n Roll will NEVER DIE!  You can read more about that first time here. Road Crew delivers non stop adrenaline filled rock, high energy shows that will have you thinking you are back on the Sunset Strip in 1984. They are the true “adrenaline junkies”.  Check out a teaser for their upcoming video of “Lost”:   Nikki Scott is the rebel on vocals whose gritty voice you will soon fall in love with. He can not only sing the lows and hit the high notes.  Jakki Dee is the bass wielding wild man who is pounding out the bass and delivers some sweet backing vocals. Tommy Lee… No, I mean… Derrick (D-Rock) the madman on [Read More]

Day 6 of 12 Days of Bands You Have To Know is for Switchblade Serenade

December 14, 2013

Today we are on our Day 6 of 12 Days of Bands You Have To Know and the honor goes to Switchblade Serenade. My son Rockin Ryan introduced me to them earlier this year. Every time he would play them, I would always about who is that band? I love them and their straight up rock n roll. As you know ’80s rock is finally making a comeback. I call it ’80s on replay style rock n roll.  Switchblade Serenade definitely are doing it right and delivering some great style ’80s rock but with an updated sound. They have the rocker look and the musical talent to back it up! Check out one of my favorite songs by them, Switchblade Susie here:   Switchblade Serenade is Austin Jaser on Guitar and Lead Vocals, Luke Barone on Drums and Vocals and Ed Mandevil on Bass and Vocals.  These three young guys bring a great big sound that you have to take notice of. They are from New Haven, CT and you can definitely feel their musical influences such as [Read More]

Day 3 of 12 Days of Bands You Have to Know is Whisky Blood

December 11, 2013

Today we are celebrating Day 3 of 12 Days of Bands You Have to Know. I have a kick ass rock band for you from London; Whisky Blood.  They describe themselves as playing, ‘STRAIGHT UP, NO BULLSHIT, ROCK N’ ROLL!” Believe me, when you take a listen, you will definitely agree with them.  I love them. Whisky Blood is Jamie Sloane on Vocals, Guitar, Paul Kixx on Guitar, and Vincent Velazco on Drums. They are currently in the process of finding a permanent bassist. These guys deliver an upgraded version of ’80s rock to life and are the complete package with their 80’s inspired looks, and spot on rock n’ roll. Jamie on vocals reminds me of a blend of Josh Todd from Buckcherry and Austin WInkler of Hinder. Their music brings me back to my firsts love; old school ’80s rock like Ratt, Skid Row, L.A. Guns, Firehouse, the list can go on and on.  But what is great is that Whisky Blood have added their own style and in no way, imitate. You will be [Read More]
