Top Twenty Music Videos from 1982

August 1, 2013

1982… For me… what a year… Freshman/Sophmore year at the all girls Catholic School Notre Dame in Belmont, California. I begged to go to the local public school after going to private uniform schools for the past 8 years but no luck…. So the best part is I remember we had MTV. We had just got it and I was glued to it the fist couple weekends that we had it. I remember we were vacationing at the house we rented every summer in Lake Tahoe and we got up there and they had the MTV channel. My whole world changed!! It happened to be the weekend where they spent most of it broadcasting Todd Rundgren Utopia concert but I got enough music videos to beg my Father to get it for us when we got back. Upon returning, our area was the new recipients of MTV and it gave me all the entertainment that I needed.  So here is my Top Twenty Music Videos from 1982. 20. Eye of the Tiger – Survivor 19. A Story Beneath releases new video for “All in My Head”

August 1, 2013

One of my favorite bands that I told you about in a post back in May  that includes an interview with Phil Goff, has recently released a video for their kick ass song, “All in  My Head” which is from their new EP Beneath the Skin, and you can check it out here: A Story Beneath is an incredible band from Santa Clarita, California. Phil Goff is on Guitar and Vocals, Toddy Libby on Bass and Keys, and Markus Flick on drums. These three guys come together with driving rhythms, melodic chords blended with some powerful rock reminiscent of Silverchair, early Tool and Incubus but they definitely have a sound of their own.  Once you start listening to them, believe me, you might not stop. I told you about one of my Go To songs which is  “Chamelion”. This song just gets up in me and has me revived in an instant.  You can get their new EP right on CDBaby here. So make sure to check them on their social media sites and check out their new [Read More]

August 1, 2013

Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals did something very special last night at their Tulsa, Oklahoma performance. They worked with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and brought up young Peyton Arens who is battling a rare form of  Rhabdomyosarcoma cancer to play with them onstage. They hooked him up with a guitar and they played the infamous PANTERA track, “WALK”.  You can check out the video for it here:   Phil posted on his Instagram a couple photos of the band playing with Peyton as well as a quick video. Here is one: You can check out more on Peyton and donate to help fund childhood cancer research here.  As quoted on the Prey For Peyton page: “On a personal note, we are very proud of Peyton. He has maintained a great attitude since he was diagnosed. He is a fighter and we are so proud of how brave he has been. Not once has Peyton complained nor has he asked “why me”. Keep up the fight Peyton. We love you!”  Peyton definitely is a bad ass [Read More]
