Joey Jordison is well known for his over the top speed drumming for Slipknot and also his sold intense guitar in Murderdolls. Joey has announced his musical endeavor, Scar the Martyr and he will again be treating us to his precision drumming. Also in the band is Henry Derek as vocalist, keyboardist Chris Vrenna (Nine Inch Nails), and guitarists Jed Simon (Strapping Young Lad) and Kris Norris (Darkest Hour).

Scar the Martyr is set to release their debut album is set to release on October 1st. You can listen to their song, Blood Host on the Revolver site here.    As stated on the Revolver site, Jordison says of the track, “It’s very coincidental that ‘Blood Host’ is our first track and video because it was the first song I wrote for this project when it was nothing but a mere idea at best. Songs, of course, followed, and molded into an overall feel, concept, and now a full-length album. ‘Blood Host’ has it all: hypnotic riffs, soaring choruses, pummeling breakdowns, and the lyrics are infectious in every sense. We are very proud of the track and it pretty much lets you know where we are coming from, musically, and what we are all about live. Scar the Martyr, up close and personal.”

When you listen to the song, it definitely has me wanting more. They really have some great riffs, hypnotic edge to it and the vocals of Henry are captivating.  Scar the Martyr will be heading out with DANZIG as they celebrate their 25th Anniversary Tour which will also include performanes by Doyle of the Misfits as well as Huntress. The tour is set to kick off on August 9th in Canada and you can check out the tour dates below.
