I can`t think of any particular band that inspired writing it but I guess the solo is partly inspired by John 5 which is one of my favorite guitar players! The lyrics are written by Roy Egeland which is Alien Kens vocalist extraordinaire. In fact he has written [Read More]

January 10, 2014

We have been anxiously awaiting the release of Rockers Switchblade Serenade new album, “Alive at Night”.  HOT DAMN! It was definitely an album worth waiting for. It is a complete full on ROCK n ROLL  album that will soon become one of your favorites. “Alive at Night” was produced, mixed, and mastered by Nick Bellmore (Drummer of Toxic Holocaust and Kingdom Of Sorrow) at Dexter’s Lab Recording Studio  You can pick it up NOW  on Itunes here. The first song is the title track, “Alive at Night” and starts right off with their energetic rock, bad ass chorus and amazing guitar work. It is a great anthemic rock song. You also have their single we previously shared with you, “Who Are You?” Bassist Ed Mandevil told us more about the song, “The song is about asking the listener who they really are. There are so many fakes and phoneys out there and we’re a bit tire of it!”  The song has a bad ass bass intro, vocals are edgy yet mysterious, love the backing vocals, great guitar solo [Read More]

Burn Halo releases new song, Wolves of WAR

December 31, 2013

Tonight Burn Halo released their song, “Wolves of War” which is off their new album and it is INSANE!! It definitely has a deep 18 Visions influence….. Heavy! Heavy! Heavy!  It is solid and intense on all levels. Check it out here:   https://www.facebook.com/burnhalo?sk=app_182222305144028 We featured Burn Halo on our Countdown of 14 Bands that will rule 2014. You can read more from that post here.  Burn Halo  was created by James Hart (frontman of Eighteen Visions) sometime in 2007. We have had the pleasure of seeing Burn Halo about a dozen times since 2009  and they always put on an incredible show. James Hart always delivers intense energy with his vocals and Joey Roxx, their kick ass guitarist is right up front and center (well stage left to be exact!) We are excited to see Ryan Frost returned to playing rhythm guitar. When we ran in to Joey Roxx during Aftershock Festival in September and he told us to be prepared for a heavier sound and a throwback to 18 Visions roots. He also gave [Read More]

Countdown of 14 Bands That Will Rule 2014, #2 goes to Steel Panther!

December 23, 2013

We made it to the #2 Spot and it is time to have some F**KING FUN with our Rock N Roll!! So for #2 I bring you Steel Panther!  2014 is going to be a very big year for Steel Panther. They are set to release their highly anticipated new album, “All You Can Eat“. Steel Panther fans or should I say Fanthers, have been anxiously waiting for new music to follow up their highly successful last album, Balls Out. Some may only know Steel Panther as a parody band personifying the glam/metal lifestyles of the ’80s but you may know that they are DAMN talented musicians. Michael Starr on Vocals has one of the best vocal ranges and his high notes will have you thinking you are on the Sunset Strip in 1985. Lexxi Foxxx pounds out some slamming bass as he whips his hair and primps in the mirror. Satchel on guitar embodies a true Guitar God, with the moves, stage presence and he KICKS ASS on the guitar. His solo will have [Read More]

Tom Keifer releases video for The Flower Song

December 2, 2013

Growing up in the 70’s/80’s, I listened to a LOT of ROCK n ROLL. One of my favorite bands from the 80’s was the Philadelphia based blues rock band CINDERELLA. I went to many of their concerts to just to hear the raspy, distinctive gritty voice of Tom Keifer. His vocals were incredible and always drew me to their music. Earlier this year, Tom released his solo record, The Way Life Goes on Merovee Records (through WMG ILG) and went out on tour in support of the album. Tom has two singles out from this spectacular album, Solid Ground and The Flower Song. Today Tom released the video for The Flower Song which is one of my favorites off his album. You can check it out here:   We also had the opportunity to interview Tom earlier this year and are pleased to repost that interview for you  here: * * * * * * * * * * Music Junkie Press: Hi Tom, Thank you for taking the time out to talk with us here at Music Junkie [Read More]
