Billy Idol releases video for new single, Save Me Now

May 12, 2015

Billy Idol has just released a cinematic video for his song, Save Me Now which is off his latest album, Kings & Queens of the Underground. The clip follows a priest and a police officer on a wild ride set against the stark, desolate California landscape, accompanied by a leading lady entwined in the drama. In describing the video, Kirk said:  “I went for a concept which very much took the lyrics of ‘Save Me Now’ and turned them into a surreal story that I felt was as true to the very visual lyrics as possible. I loved the image of a bruised cop and a priest trapped inside a car.”     Catch Billy Idol out on tour, check the dates below: DATE CITY VENUE TUE 5/26 Atlanta, GA The Tabernacle FRI 5/29 New York, NY Pier 97 SAT 5/30 Columbia, MD Sweetlife Festival TUE 6/2 Richmond, VA The National THU 6/4 Portland, ME Maine State Pier FRI 6/5 Morristown, NJ Mayo Performing Arts Center   THU 6/11 Isle of Wight, UK Isle of Wight Festival SAT 6/13 Glasgow, UK O2 Academy [Read More]

The Family Ruin prove they are a set not to miss!

March 30, 2015

We were excited to see The Family Ruin on the Ashes To Ashes Tour. We have been featuring this amazing rock band from the UK since they were first announced on KBB Records last year. We brought you our review of their kick ass album, Dearly Departed which was released last September and once again we were excited to catch them live! One thing is for sure, they delivered another amazing kick ass set. This time they were at the Ace of Spades for their first time in Sacramento. The crowd loved them! I love it when a band that I really enjoy listening to can match the same intensity of their music as they do live on stage. This is one band that definitely has no problem conquering that battle. They blew us away with their contagious energy and had the crowd on their feet rockin out. Check out photos of their set by our Rockin Ryan:   From the moment they hit the stage and until they walked off to greet fans at their merch [Read More]

Burn Halo signs to Entertainment One Music and new album is due out this summer

March 4, 2015

Burn Halo blew us away last year when we caught them at Aftershock Festival and has had us in anticipation of their new music. They have just announced that they have signed a worldwide deal with Entertainment One Music with plans to release their new LP, Wolves of War this summer. Frontman James Hart comments, “It was important for us to find the right team, With Scott Givens and his staff at eOne, we believe we have found that team. We’re all very excited about the future of Burn Halo.”  In case you haven’t seen it, check out their lyric video for their title track here: James comments about the song,  “The song ‘Wolves of War’ is a statement of aggression and angst towards all that have never given us a chance. This is our answer to the naysayers. With a foot upon your throat, we will be heard. Our label and management felt confident enough after hearing early demos that they pretty much left us alone during the recording process allowing us to make the record we envisioned, [Read More]

RED’s new release Of Beauty and Grace is an exceptional work of art

February 24, 2015

Today is the release date of RED’s new album, Of Beauty and Grace and it really is one amazing work of art. Their music brings such imagery to life and each song creates a new scene for you to delve into. The levels of intensity and passion are raised with this album and you can’t help feel a deep connection with each song. Vocalist Michael explains about the album and what it is about, “about suffering and finding the beauty in that. No one in this world likes to suffer, myself included, but we only become the strong individuals we are today from the trials and hardships we faced in the past. I remember meeting a teenager on Winter Jam 2013 who had terminal cancer. He wanted to meet us because we were his favorite band. In a sense, you might consider this a tragedy since his life was going to be taken away from him at such an early age. What I saw was beauty in the way that he handled his illness. The teen was [Read More]

Guitar virtuouso Robben Ford announces new album

February 5, 2015

Guitar virtuouso Robben Ford is set to release his new album, Into The Sun via Mascot Label Group on March 31st. The new album will highlight Robben’s artful contemporary songwriting and his spectacular playing in an 11 song set that he describes, “one of the top recordings I’ve ever done”. This new release will incorporate his timeless vocabulary of jazz, pop, blues and rock into a modern framework for his poetic lyrics and the most graceful, emotionally nuanced and melodic vocal performances of his career. All of the music and most of the lyrics come from Robben  but he also collaborated with ZZ Ward on “Breath Of Me” and enlisted the enigmatic Kyle Swan, whose own recordings liberally mix images and styles to build articulate modernist-pop tone poems. He explains more about the album, “The album is really upbeat. It has a positive vibe to it — a good time feel. There are a lot of different rhythms and colors and the way the instruments are used is really different on this. It makes me very happy to [Read More]

The Church release video for new song Vanishing Man off new album

February 3, 2015

Today one of my favorite bands of my youth and then became the soundtrack of my life is The Church released  their 25th studio album. The album, Further/Deeper marks the 35th anniversary of the band. 35 years of great music amid lineup changes, music formats and so much more. “The magic started on day one,” says singer/bass player Steve Kilbey. “Someone strummed a chord or struck a drum or plucked a note and we were off. We wrote and recorded like demons and it was inspiring to feel every member using all his resources in the service of this record.” Check out the new video for their alluring and ethereal song, Vanishing Man The song features that signature sound of The Church that I have loved and missed so much. In addition to the release, The Church are setting out on a North American Tour in support of their new album. Check the tour dates below and I hope you get yourself to a show: The Church 2015 – North American Tour 2/21/2015                Vancouver, BC           [Read More]
