Another highlight from Bottle Rock was Smash Mouth

June 5, 2014

We had listed SmashMouth as one of our featured bands of the Day for Bottle Rock last month and they were awesome last Saturday. We were running around like crazy but we were glad we could make it out to the Miner Stage to catch a few of their songs from their set. It was packed from front to back, side to side. They were truly there to give the fans what they wanted; an absolutely fun time filled with their favorite songs. This band does not need any introduction as almost all of us at one time or another cranked up “All Star” and sang out loud at the top of our lungs. I have always had a love affair with SmashMouth since they bring out the fun side in me and capture the perfect essence of summer! You can’t help but listen to their music loud and dance along as their music has always been the life of the party!  “When we play itʼs a nonstop party,” Steve Harwell, lead singer says. That is [Read More]

The Highlight of the 2014 Bottle Rock Napa Festival was The Cure!

June 2, 2014

For the past three months we have been bringing to you our featured artists and bands for the 2014 Bottle Rock Napa Festival. The festival was a great success, very well organized, plenty of parking, shuttles, food vendors, water refilling and phone charging stations. We will continue to bring you our recap of this successful festival but first we wanted to bring you the Highlight of the 2014 Bottle Rock Napa Festival. I don’t think it comes as any surprise, that The Cure has been chosen as the highlight of this year’s festival. The Cure played on Friday night and after a long day of great bands, good food and lots of fun. They started promptly at 7:30 and treated us to a nonstop 2 1/2 hour set. When I mean nonstop, I mean literally nonstop. There were no show breaks, or small talk. They were there to perform and did everything to insure that we all heard our personal favorites as well as some songs that haven’t played live in years!  Due to the [Read More]

An In-Depth Interview with producer/multi-instrumentalist John Kendall Royston

May 24, 2014

In today’s age of music, a producer has to wear many hats and be able to not only oversee and manage an artist’s recording, but they have to be musicians themselves and delve completely into the project. The most important aspect of the producer is to take the artist’s vision and do everything possible to make that vision a reality through their music and recording. We had the opportunity to talk an amazing producer, John Kendall Royston of Echodog Productions. Echodog Productions provide a full service creative and commercial audio production, mixing, songwriting, and voiceover services. John along with his partner Dan Mineart produced the new forthcoming album, Shadows by The Relapse Symphony. It is an amazing album that truly takes the young band to new levels within their music. Check out an interview with vocalist Bret Von Dehl here as we discussed his album. John in addition to producing, is a multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter for his band Savage Bones along with his producing partner, Dan. Their music is filled with emotionally driven lyrics, heartfelt [Read More]

Morrissey concert cut short due to being tackled by excited fans

May 8, 2014

Morrissey. What can I say about this man, with his incredible voice that became my safe haven in the those crazy angst filled teen years of my past. His voice has been the soundtrack of my life and the songs they sing have taken me through the best and the worst times of my life. I have Morrissey to thank for the wonderful gift of their music.  That is such a shared sentiment by so many fans. You want to talk to him, touch him, hug him, thank him and that is exactly what many fans did and attempted to do last night. The 54 year old singer was tackled by several fans during the encore performance at the City National Civic in San Jose, Ca last night. Several of the first few fans made it to the stage and you can see just wanted to touch him and Morrissey so kindly obliged them all, even reaching out to those that were being taken away by security.  It continued on through the song, One Day, [Read More]

American Hi-Fi release new single from forthcoming album, Blood & Lemonade

May 8, 2014

American Hi-Fi have had quite a success with their infectious pop rock sound and they are returning with a new album, Blood & Lemonade which is set for a September 16th release via Rude Records.  When asked about the new album, Singer Stacy Jones says: “We can’t wait for people to hear Blood & Lemonade! It’s a return to a big guitar sound that is most reminiscent of our first album. I am so proud of the songs on this record. It looks like we have finally hit our stride in defining our sound. Jones continues, “We recorded this album in my studio here in Los Angeles over the course of a few sessions. We tracked with all four of us playing live in the main room, then went back and did whatever overdubs we felt we needed; I think recording the majority of the record live lends itself to an energy that can’t be captured any other way. We are proud to represent an era where musicians had to get in the garage with their friends, [Read More]
