Austin based indie pop duo The Vantage may have just released what has become my new Go To song. Their new song, Place In The Water is one of those tracks that is like that moment in Ratatouille where the food critic takes one bite of the meal made by the rat, and he is instantly taken back to a specific memory in time. That hasn’t happened in a while for me, and it was so awesome to have that feeling when I listened to their new song today. It literally brought me back to my twenty something years in the 90’s and we would head to a cool club in San Francisco, the Paradise Lounge. It had four separate stages in the venue that would feature live music from electronic, pop, alternative, punk and modern rock. It was a haven of happiness for many of us. The music would infuse us with hopes and dreams and capture our innocence with fun playful alternative pop tracks. That is what this song brings to me.

The track is the first release from The Vantage since their 2014 EP Color Blind. In addition to being hard at work, they are set to perform at this year’s SXSW Festival as well as a couple other dates. Check the show listings below:
