For Day 54 on our Countdown to NAMM 2017, we feature Rich Severson Quartet performing on NAMM Hilton Stage at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 18th. There are so many great musicians playing during NAMM. Make sure to kick off NAMM by checking out the Rich Severson Quartet. Details below:
Rich Severson Jazz Quartet
You’d be hard pressed to find any better jazz or more talented musicians in Central California than the Rich Severson Quartet. The band features Rich Severson, a world class jazz guitarist, along with Fresno’s first call drummer, Gary Newmark, bassist extraordinaire, Roy Carlson plus the Valley’s “A” list keyboardist, Darrell Devaurs. Playing an enjoyable variety of standards and originals in bebop to Bossa Nova styles, these stellar players are sure to capture any jazz lover’s heart. Guitar enthusiasts in the crowd will appreciate Severson’s skillful playing as he performs a variety jazz stylings. For over 20 years Severson has published his own online guitar school, GuitarCollege.com, and also hosts an annual Yosemite Jazz Guitar and Bass Workshop.
These four talented musicians have graced the central California area for over 20 years with their fine playing. Rich, Roy and Gary have been performing together for 20 years adding Darrell on keys to round out the group about 10 years ago. The group has opened for such notables as Bill Cosby, George Benson, Brian Bromberg, Mickey Rooney, Warren Hill &The Golden Boys of Bandstand. They have played at many venues throughout the central valley including The Tower Theatre, Hanford Fox Theater, Table Mountain Casino, Tachi Palace Casino, Chukchansi Casino, Combes River Ranch as well as numerous Madera and Fresno Wineries.
