With BottleRock Napa 2017 just about a month away, we were excited to catch one of our favorite BottleRock Napa Spotlight Bands perform. Bishop Briggs made a stop in San Francisco last week to perform a date from her first headlining tour at the legendary Fillmore. They performed last year at the iconic venue, opening for Kaleo and blew us away. They did it again, as this time they were there for their headlining show, and they truly gave 150% out on that stage! We had the chance to catch up with Bishop Briggs shortly before her set. You can check out our interview here: The night kicked off with an eclectic indie pop electronic set by Manatee Commune. Followed by SHAED, a vibrant pop band highlighted with powerful vocals. From the moment Bishop hit the stage, the crowd went wild with enthusiasm. It was pure bliss as the music washed away all our worries and concerns. From Scooby-doo to CSI-Miami and Cuban beats: An interview with producer Jared Faber

April 7, 2017

(Los Angeles) I am so happy Jared Faber decided to move to LA from his native New York in 1999 when a TV composing opportunity presented itself.  Faber had been writing music for Nickelodeon in New York, but LA called in the form of an opportunity to compose for the Emmy- nominated Nick series, As told by Ginger. He answered that call and moved to LaLa Land, kicking off a career that has garnered Grammy and Emmy nominations and awards, a Latin Grammy, and a long list of music for TV and films – plus his own music,  plus producing award winning records for artists in LA and Cuba. But it was cartoons that got him started and I got to talk with him about that and the many other things he has done in his career.   Patrick. Jared, you have a long list of credits composing for animation.  Why animation – is there something about the art form or children’s programming that calls to you?   Jared. Initially, it really was [Read More]

Interview with Finn Bell of the 90’s grunge-infused alt rockers Love Ghost!

December 23, 2016

We recently featured a new favorite band of ours, the 90’s grunge-infused alt/rockers Love Ghost. The Los Angeles band was formed 15-year-old frontman Finn Bell and the band features teenagers who are well beyond their years with their music. They bring out our love of 90’s grunge but blended with alt rock and a modern sound. Finn who is the lead vocalist and lyricist highlights his songwriting by taking you on an emotional journey. He describes his process as a continuous stream of consciousness, drawn from his emotional response. Bell expresses ‘It’s a shame that people tend to shy away from anything that feels too personal, because those types of things let you know who you really are.’ We recently had a chance to chat with Finn Bell and are pleased to share our interview with you here: * * * * * * * *  Music Junkie Press: Did you or do you have a strong musical program in your schools that fostered your love for music? Finn: No, not as much. I learned [Read More]

November 23, 2016

One band I am truly thankful for…. is Radkey! Holy shit, they have blown me away and I am hooked on them.  We recently brought you the coverage from their San Francisco show at Neck of the Woods with The Fame Riot. The night was great and Radkey  WOWed us with their stellar set. They are truly a punk rock phenomenon that has to be heard! I must tell you, that I was grinning ear to ear from start to finish watching them perform. It has been a long time for me since I stood in amazement as I knew I was witnessing this incredible band, and I might not have the chance to experience them in such an intimate venue again. They are destined for a bright future as they remind me of the early days of  Misfits, Ramones, or Nirvana. The band features three Radke brothers, Dee  on guitars/vocals, Isaiah on bass/vocals and Solomon on drums. They are a mighty three that will blow you away with their music.
