The Jaded release first of several new singles, “Wafflebox (My Girl)”

October 11, 2013

Earlier this year, I told you about a great rock band from San Francisco, The Jaded.  These guys bring true rock and roll and wrap it in everything from funk, blues and an old school sound that just has you wanting more. They have been hard at work recording several singles and have released the first one. “Wafflebox (My Girl)” is out now and you can get it on Itunes.  This song is awesome! It has a great bluesy intro and then kicks into high gear with Jimmy Steal on vocals, he reminds me of a crisper sounding young David Lee Roth.  It has a great catchy chorus and just has you moving in seconds. I love the energy that this song gives off and the backing vocals are spot on.  Later in the song, there is a great vocals buildup that is fun and cheeky.   This local band has definitely honed in on their craft of rock and roll and this song, might be just the one to take them to new heights. October 11, 2013

We have been waiting not so patiently and it is NOW TIME…. One of my favorite bands, Love and a .38 released  a new video for their new song, “Just a Woman” that as I mentioned before,  “has such a bluesy classic rock sound to it and I just fell in love with it instantly. It has a great chorus that makes me want to cruise out on the open highway with no worries and my Love and a .38 turned up loud!” As Danny Excess, drummer posted about the video: “Get ready… the new Love and a .38 premiers today at 12pm PDT! If you want to see a typical kickass rock video, than DON’T watch it! This is a combination of Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!,The Karate Kid and Napoleon Dynamite. Hope you like it or hate it!” So check it out here:   I know one thing…. I LOVE IT!!  It is a fun one and we all love Master Bruce Stevens, especially the car wash scene.   Love and a .38 truly are one of the hardest [Read More]

Blue October SWAY tour lights it up at the Fillmore in San Francisco

October 10, 2013

One of the tours that I have been most excited about this year is the Blue October SWAY tour and last night it was San Francisco’s turn to enjoy the show.  Well, I have to say Congratulations Blue October, you truly hit out of the ballpark last night.  It was amazing in so many ways. Their were two opening bands and both were spectacular. First you were treated to Tori Vasquez and her band. We had the pleasure of seeing her perform on Justin’s Open Book Tour and last night she played with her band. They were spot on and the crowd was really enjoying them. We have more about Tori Vasquez here. Next up, were The Unlikely Candidates from Keller, Texas and these five guys came out with full energy and an incredible set. You can read more about their performance on our post here. Then, Blue October took the stage and it was as if all was right in the world as I looked over to the right and saw C.B. Hudson. It was [Read More]

Tori Vasquez and her amazing performance at the Fillmore

October 10, 2013

Last night we covered the Blue October SWAY tour show in San Francisco at the historic Fillmore.  We were treated to an amazing performance by Tori Vasquez. We got to see Tori as she opened for Justin on his Open Book tour earlier this year. At that time, she did an acoustic performance and that was wonderful. Well, last night we had the honor of seeing Tori play with her band and it was spectacular. Her band definitely give out great energy.  When Tori first steps out on stage, she reminded me of a young Linda Ronstadt and when she performs she brings out the Pat Benatar rockstar in her. She has quite a magnetic stage presence and along with her alluring voice, you can’t help but be drawn to her. Check out the Rockin Ryan’s slide show of photographs from her set: Check out this amazing tribute video Rockin Ryan made for Tori with her song, Free Upon a Dream:   Tori has been working on releasing her first full length album and we [Read More]

Alter Bridge new album Fortress out now & review here!

October 8, 2013

Today is the day!!! Alter Bridge‘s new album “Fortress” is released here in the US. So, I have been absolutely floored by this album. So many times, bands come back and try to reinvent themselves and come out sounding so different. Then other times, a band puts out an album that sounds oddly familiar to their last few albums. Well, neither of those are the case for the  new Alter Bridge album. They come out with an album filled with amazing new songs that not only have their old fans applauding loudly but I am sure are going to gain a ton of new fans!  It is awesome in so many ways! If you have been a fan of Alter Bridge as long as I have you have fallen in love with their emotionally driven lyrics, touching ballads, smoking guitar solos by Mark Tremonti and high energy rock n roll. See what I mean, they have it all in their repertoire and this album is the best at highlighting all their accomplishments and opening the [Read More]

Countdown to new EP by Southerland Nights and interview with Adam!

October 8, 2013

We are counting down the days to the release of Southerland Night‘s new EP, Destroy Something Beautiful. This three piece rock band from Houston, Texas has an incredible devout following that are aptly called The Accolade. Once  you take a listen to their emotionally driven high energy alternative rock, you will have no other choice than to join us and be part of The Accolade.  Their music reminds me of what would be a cross between early David Bowie and Thirty Second To Mars with a side of Depeche Mode. The band consists of singer/guitarist Adam Elara, bassist Andy Nova and drummer Stephen Adwell. They recently released a very heartwarming and uplifting video for their song, “Here I Am“. You can watch the video here:   We had the opportunity to interview Adam and we are pleased to bring that interview to you: * * * * * * * * * Music Junkie Press: How old were you when you first started playing music? Adam: I was 14 when Andy (our bassist) taught me [Read More]
