Here is the cover art for the new album by the US Progressive Metal band, It has been almost 10 years sine we last heard from Fates Warning with their release of “FWX“.  FATES WARNING vocalist Ray Alder checked in with a comment as follows: “Darkness in a Different Light” is the result of almost two years of very hard work from everyone in the band.  I believe that this line-up is the best that Fates has ever had, and I also think that it comes through in the music on this album. It’s been almost nine years since our last studio album and I couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve accomplished here. We are looking very much forward to playing some new songs for our fans who have stuck by us over all these years. August 5, 2013

Our very own San Francisco favorite singer/songrwriter Peter London has a new CD coming out that I wanted to tell you more about.  Peter is an avid animal lover and is using his gift of music to raise awareness and funds for a refuge animal center.  He has such a great heart and I look for all of us to join in and help support the no-kill animal shelters.  First I want you to check out an acoustic version of one of my all time Peter London favorites: Run Away. Doesn’t that voice just blow you away. Truly  a work of art! We were able to briefly interview Peter and here is that interview for you: * * * * * * * * * * * * Doesn’t that voice just blow you away. Lemmy cuts set short: PLEASE TAKE A REST LEMMY! WE LOVE YOU!

August 2, 2013

Exactly one month ago, I told you about Motorhead cancelling their European tour dates due to Lemmy Kilmister health issues. One of the tour dates they did not cancel was Waken Open Air Festival and maybe they should have. it is reported that they had to cut the set short due to Lemmy’s health.  They had longer pauses between songs and after one long pause, Lemmy came out for another song and never returned. Thank you so much, guys!  according to Google Translate here it [Read More]

Songs, of course, followed, and molded into an overall feel, concept, and now a full-length album. ‘Blood Host’ has it all: hypnotic riffs, soaring choruses, pummeling breakdowns, and the lyrics are infectious in every [Read More]

Top Twenty Music Videos from 1982

August 1, 2013

1982… For me… what a year… Freshman/Sophmore year at the all girls Catholic School Notre Dame in Belmont, California. I begged to go to the local public school after going to private uniform schools for the past 8 years but no luck…. So the best part is I remember we had MTV. We had just got it and I was glued to it the fist couple weekends that we had it. I remember we were vacationing at the house we rented every summer in Lake Tahoe and we got up there and they had the MTV channel. My whole world changed!! It happened to be the weekend where they spent most of it broadcasting Todd Rundgren Utopia concert but I got enough music videos to beg my Father to get it for us when we got back. Upon returning, our area was the new recipients of MTV and it gave me all the entertainment that I needed.  So here is my Top Twenty Music Videos from 1982. 20. Eye of the Tiger – Survivor 19. A Story Beneath releases new video for “All in My Head”

August 1, 2013

One of my favorite bands that I told you about in a post back in May  that includes an interview with Phil Goff, has recently released a video for their kick ass song, “All in  My Head” which is from their new EP Beneath the Skin, and you can check it out here: A Story Beneath is an incredible band from Santa Clarita, California. Phil Goff is on Guitar and Vocals, Toddy Libby on Bass and Keys, and Markus Flick on drums. These three guys come together with driving rhythms, melodic chords blended with some powerful rock reminiscent of Silverchair, early Tool and Incubus but they definitely have a sound of their own.  Once you start listening to them, believe me, you might not stop. I told you about one of my Go To songs which is  “Chamelion”. This song just gets up in me and has me revived in an instant.  You can get their new EP right on CDBaby here. So make sure to check them on their social media sites and check out their new [Read More]
