Our very own San Francisco favorite singer/songrwriter Peter London has a new CD coming out that I wanted to tell you more about.  Peter is an avid animal lover and is using his gift of music to raise awareness and funds for a refuge animal center.  He has such a great heart and I look for all of us to join in and help support the no-kill animal shelters.  First I want you to check out an acoustic version of one of my all time Peter London favorites: Run Away.

Doesn’t that voice just blow you away. Truly  a work of art! We were able to briefly interview Peter and here is that interview for you:

Music Junkie Press: Can you tell us about your new EP America and when is the release date?
Peter:  America is A CD that I always wanted to record ..mainly because it will mostly be acoustic and I love playing acoustic guitar however it will have few full tracks including one I recorded last winter that featured Greg Camp the original Smash Mouth guitarist and also Phil Bennett The Starship keyboard player as far as the release date will be end of 2013
Music Junkie Press: We know that you wanted to use the record as a fundraising effort to help fund an animal and refuge center. Can you tell us more about this?
Peter: Well going back to the start of the project I have many friends that are animal lovers including myself and thought it would be a great opportunity to do something for a no kill animal shelter and the one we chose was “Pets In Need” where 25% of all cd sales go to the organization for life of CD
Music Junkie Press: We understand that you have been recording at Capitol Studios, how is everything going with it?
Peter:  Well after talking to Nick Dofflemyer at Universal I decided to record in Berkeley CA at Live Oak Recording Studios home of Mazzy Star and many other platinum artists and will have Universal Master the tracks thinking I get can get more accomplished in my area than going all the way into LA
Music Junkie Press: Will you be playing any shows back here in SF after the CD is completed?
Peter:  Yes it’s been a while since the Slims and Red Devil Lounge days in SF 2 of my favorite places to play remembering playing with Exene Cervenka from X, DADA, Fastball, Roy Orbison’s son and Allman Brother kids…great shows at Slims
Music Junkie Press: How old were you when you first started playing guitar?
Peter:  I think I was about 14 years old when I 1st bought an electric guitar
Music Junkie Press: Can you remember what was the first song you learned how to play in its entirety?
Peter:  Twist n Shout by the Beatles
Music Junkie Press: We at Music Junkie Press are strong believers about how music can heal a broken heart, mend a torn soul, inspire, energize, etc. What would you say is your Go To song that can completely take you to a happy mood or place?
Peter:   I would have to say Mind Games by John Lennon very inspiring
Music Junkie Press: Lastly, is there anything else you would like to share with our audience?
Peter:  Want to say thanks for the many years of support especially the Bay Area and radio station’s 105.3 FM  Live 105,  95.5 102.1 FM KFOX and Arizona’s 92.1 KFMA and of course you for this great interview and my girl Jenny!~

I will keep you updated as to more info comes in on the CD. For now, we can order a CD or T-shirt to help raise funds for Pets in Need.  Check out Peter with his song, “Rain” that absolutely has inredible soul touching vocals and acoustically will take you to a higher dimension. I LOVE IT!

~Enjoy, Marisol
