Fates Warning announces a new album “Darkness in a Different Light” which is set to release on October 1st, 2013. Here is the cover art for the new album by the US Progressive Metal band, It has been almost 10 years sine we last heard from Fates Warning with their release of “FWX“. FATES WARNING vocalist Ray Alder checked in with a comment as follows:
“Darkness in a Different Light” is the result of almost two years of very hard work from everyone in the band.
I believe that this line-up is the best that Fates has ever had, and I also think that it comes through in the music on this album. It’s been almost nine years since our last studio album and I couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve accomplished here.
We are looking very much forward to playing some new songs for our fans who have stuck by us over all these years. We plan on touring as much as possible for “Darkness in a Different Light” and hopefully we’ll hit a few places we’ve never been…”
This is an album that we can’t wait for. Fate’s Warning lineup is Ray Alder on Vocals, Jim Matheoson and Frank Aresti on Guitars. Joey Vera on Bass and Bobby Jarzombek on Drums. So get ready for Fates Warning and check out the upcoming tour dates below.

Aresti isn’t on most of the US tour dates this fall. I guess he isn’t leaving again entirely but he’s not really a permanent member of the band either. Still if they ever toured the US like this, they probably would have had fill-in members for Vera as well. And the drummer situation is ever evolving.
