Very exciting news to share with you. The Kooks are set to kick off their highly anticipated headlining tour on February 11th. The winter tour is in support of their latest album, Let’s Go Sunshine. NEW MUSIC: Cage The Elephant release stellar new song, Ready to Let Go off upcoming new album, Social Cues

What a perfect way to start a Thursday! I woke up and have been listening to the kick ass new song Ready To Let Go, by Cage The Elephant. It is the first song to be released off their  upcoming fifth studio album, titled Social Cues, set to release on April 19th via RCA Records. ‘Produced by John Hill (Santigold, Florence + The Machine, Portugal. The Man, tUnE-yArDs), the album was recorded at Battle Tapes Recording, Blackbird Studio and Sound Emporium in Nashville and The Village Recording Studio in Los Angeles, mixed by Tom Elmhirst and mastered by Randy Merrill in New York City.’    About the new album, The majority of the material on Social Cues was written during the unravelling of Shultz’s relationship. Sex Slaves, Raygun Rebels and Lave live at the Asta in Rosenheim (Bavaria, Germany)

Seven years we had to wait for a live comeback – finally, January 25th, 2019 the Sex Slaves from NYC got back to Rosenheim to play in a cozy club called Asta. It was the first of a few European tour dates in Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland. The small venue was packed with friends of the bands and fans from near and far. The beauty of small club shows is that you are so much closer to where the magic happens. Check out the pictures of that night – with Lave, a local band of only two guys, but with a powerful performance, which some bands twice their size can’t bring on stage. Second band entering the small stage was another local act – Raygun Rebels. Their influences definitely shaped their sound – Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Mötley Crüe, ACDC … you can hear it in their songs. (Los Angeles) Sundays at NAMM start late  – or early, depending on your point of  view.  As the clock struck midnight, Sunday concerts began on the hotel stages with  Gene Navarro, Goodnight Sunrise and Russ Parish.  After a break for sleep, things cranked up again at 8 am for the Best in Show Awards Breakfast, where products that caught the prize panel’s eye were honored in the categories Best Add-Ons, Gotta Stock it, Companies to Watch and Best in Show company. The vendor booths fired up at 9 am with demonstrations  led sonically by the Incredible Drum Corps Snare try-out, plus demos of new guitars, DJ controllers, mixers and microphones.  Outside, Earth Harp installation artist William Close was playing from a platform in front of ACCNorth with his instrument’s strings stretched up to the roof of the main Convention building. The ethereal sounds floated through the plazas and into the din of the technology booths, calming, rather than adding to the cacophony.
