Rob Caggiano joins Volbeat!

BIG NEWS!!! One of my favorite bands just got even better, if you can imagine that! Danish hard rock/metal band, Volbeat just announced that Rob Caggiano of Anthrax and The Damned Things fame has joined Volbeat as their second guitarist. Rob delivers awesome heavy metal guitar and it will be incredible to see what he brings to Volbeat. Volbeat’s sound resonates sounds from punk to rockabilly wrapped in hard rock energy. Volbeat announced the news as they were also announcing the much anticipated release date of their upcoming studio album, “Outlaw Gentlemen and Shady Ladies” on April 8th, 2013. LUCE and Tender Mercies join the fight against cancer!

I am back in the Bay Area after a long week at my favorite convention, NAMM. Now that I am back I wanted to let you all know about an upcoming local event featuring two incredible bands that are helping in the fight against cancer. Notes4Notes.org has organized a special event featuring two amazing local bands, Luce and Tender Mercies for a benefit concert being held at the historic Town Hall Theatre in Lafayette, California. Save the date of Thursday, February 21st with doors opening at 6:30 pm and concert starting at 7:30. There are a limited number of tickets available and I encourage you to get your tickets early. Sara Skinner rocks you with her angelic voice!

Sara Skinner WOW! Amazing voice that just embraces your soul. Truly the work of an angel. That is how I can describe this next artist. I have to tell you about an unbelievable new artist that I am looking forward to seeing at NAMM at the Lampifier Microphone booth next week. That incredible voice belongs to beautiful and talented, Sara Skinner. I first heard about Sara and was asked to check out one of her cover songs that she does on her Youtube channel. She actually sings live on her videos but also has her original work. I didn’t get the chance to watch the covers, then I got asked to watch her video for her release of her original song, “Break”. Number Station revives Alternative Hard Rock!

Number Station Sometimes you just need your music a bit heavier!! Well if now is that time, Number Station is the band for you. I recently got their EP sampler sent over and it was one of those rare moments. Those moments when I was in the middle of multitasking a hundred things at once, going over the list of things to have to get done and then popping the CD in. The first song that played was “The Invisible Fire” which has a great dark mysterious intro that just blends into a deep hardcore mix. Shinedown – “Amaryllis” is a true work of art by a great band!

Shinedown’s new album Amaryllis was up for a free stream tonight on Itunes. I have already pre-ordered it and am planning on seeing them twice at the end of the month but I couldn’t wait to hear the new album so I took a listen. I am glad I did. I am just reeling with joy on this one! So I got onto Itunes and right off the start is a great hard hitting song “Adrenaline” which will have you ready to rock and gives you an immediate shot of sweet adrenaline.
