KAABOO delivers three days of spectacular music, art, comedy and more!

It was three days of heaven down in Del Mar, California this past weekend as KAABOO delivered a not-to-be missed festival. KAABOO featured three days of spectacular music on the grounds of the infamous Del Mar racetrack. Everywhere you turned, was a stage featuring great musical acts, head turning art and top notch food and drinks at every corner.

The festival kicked off on Friday, September 15th and the crowds were spread out among the five major stages, enjoying the likes of X Ambassadors, Smash Mouth, Dave Mason, Lawrence, Weezer, Kesha, Red Hot Chili Peppers and so much more. The variety of bands insured that everyone would be pleased with the music and have their favorite artists performing.

We have to give a big shout out to our favorite act of KAABOO – The Last Internationale. They always impress us with their high energy sets and this was nothing short of amazing!

Saturday began with the sun shining and the fans arriving early to enjoy everything that KAABOO had to offer. The fans could kick off their day with a Califia Nitro Cold Brew to get the adrenaline flowing as they braved the crowds for a spot to enjoy acts like LANY, The Stone Foxes, Machine Gun Kelly, Jared & The Mill, Garbage, Jane’s Addiction, Eric Burdon & The Animals, P!NK, Muse and more. The stage set up allowed fans to easily flow from one stage to another, picking up some great eats like Monster Fries, Shwarmas, Lobster Rolls, and washing them down with fresh smoothies, margaritas, ice cold Voss water and an endless supply of Pure Leaf Teas.

If you needed a break from the music, you could head into the Humor Me Comedy stage for some laughs, or get lost in the creativity that filled the Artwork showroom. Saturday also had a fun KAABOO Rock N Chef Competition and late night DJ/Music in the Club Elevate Stage.

Sunday came too soon as we didn’t want the fun filled festival to end! The music kicked right off with energetic sets by The Shadowboxers, TimeFlies, Mattthew Phillips and Kira Lingman. From the first set to the last, it was non-stop great music spanning a generation which the likes of Fishbone, Milky Chance, Cordovas, LIVE, Pepper, Jackson Browne, T-Pain and more.

Sneak Peek of Photos from KAABOO

The highlight of the day for me was the mind-blowing and soul touching performance by Alanis Moissette, an artist whose 1995 album Jagged Little Pill was my lifeline through a very difficult period in my life. To hear Alanis sing songs that truly changed my life was a surreal moment. I stood on top of the Mercedes Benz pylon watching her impressive performance, holding back tears of joy and amazement. It was a personal musical highlight for myself that I will not soon forget.

The night concluded with a truly extraordinary performance by Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. The crowd was insane as everyone was at the Mercedes Benz Sunset Cliffs stage. It was generations of music lovers gathered around singing their favorite Tom Petty songs. Each song taking them back to a particular place and time in their life and reliving all the glorious moments. It was nostalgic and equally gratifying, as it made all of us enjoy the present and make life a bit sweeter.

Let’s also celebrate the beautiful (Kaboo-tiful) people of KAABOO. There was a crowd filled with smiling faces, new and old friends reuniting, music loving families and a positivity that raced through them.
