Black River Delta release new song “Shakin”

November 5, 2020

Black River Delta, the swedish Alternative/Blues/Rock-band, reports back with their new single ‘Shakin’, which also comes with a brand new video: The song is available on all streaming platforms. You can also find it on the EA Sports NHL21 soundtrack. “Shakin’ arose from the desire to, with the help of two distorted guitars, tell the story of a man, who leaves everything behind to find his luck far away from home. Just to find out, that maybe he left it behind. Sort of a ‘the grass is always greener on the other side’-story, accompanied by fuzz-guitars and heavy drums. Black River Delta is an Alternative rockband from Bollnäs, Sweden. So far they released two studio records: “Devil On The Loose” (2016) and “Vol. II” (2018). The raw Blues-Rock-sound of the band is influenced by classic Blues legends like Robert Johnson, the raw style of R.L. Burnside and modern artists like The Black Keys, Gary Clark Jr. and BRMC. Their ability to join old Blues with modern Rock led them to several tours through Europe and [Read More]

Sydney Sprague releases new song and video and announces record release date

October 23, 2020

Sydney Sprague has announced her brand new album “maybe i will see you at the end of the world” due out February 26th and released her new song and music video for “steve” out now. The 28-year-old, who recently signed to Rude Records, carries the same fire, creativity, and wit of her 90’s pop idols, combined with her familiar-yet-surprising hooks and hard-hitting, topical lyrics. “The true story of ‘Steve’ is me getting fed up with my whole life and starting over” explains Sydney on the song. “I was stuck in a dead-end job, surrounded by toxic friends and a failing relationship, living in an apartment I hated. I wrote this song at my breaking point, when I was finally like, enough, and I cut all of the bad out of my life”. Fans can also check out the song and acoustic video for “i refuse to die”, which was released last week. While the song was written before the nightmare that is 2020, Sydney could feel the negative energy looming and this song was written as a manifestation. The previous [Read More]

The Amity Affliction share two new tracks

October 20, 2020

The Amity Affliction released two b-sides from their latest record ‘Everyone Loves You….Once You Leave Them’ today. Check out ‘Midnight Train’ and ‘Don’t Wade In The Water’ Joel Birch on the new songs: “‘Midnight Train’ came about from Ahren just singing ‘midnight train’ in amongst some other garbage when he did the scratch track for me to get an idea of how he wanted to sing the chorus. We wrote the entire song around those two words, which wasn’t actually hard because there was some context to it. It follows an arc of my relationship with my wife, ending where we are today. We’ve known each other for 25 years and the song covers some key moments for both of us. ‘Don’t Wade in the Water,’ it’s a song about my mother and father and the role the church had in separating them, and then the role that the church and religion played in my later life. Obviously, it is a play on the old hymn sung by Ella Jenkins, which is a beautiful, beautiful [Read More]

American Hi-Fi release cover of Squeeze’s “Another Nail In My Heart”

July 31, 2020

Today, American Hi-Fi are releasing their cover of Squeeze’s 1980 single, “Another Nail in My Heart”. A loud and energetic take on the new-wave hit. “Another Nail in My Heart” is American Hi-Fi’s third cover release this summer, following recent reimaginings of Madness’ “Our House” and Joe Jackson’s “Steppin’ Out”. Frontman Stacy Jones shares: “’Another Nail in my Heart’ is a perfect example of the songcraft that makes Squeezeso beloved. How many other pop tunes go to a ripping guitar solo right after the first chorus?!?! As with the covers we’ve recently released, this is one of those tunes that I’ve sung in the shower ad nauseam, and now I hope people will crank up our version and do the same!”. All three cover songs will be featured on American Hi-Fi’s upcoming covers EP, “Anywhere Else But Here”, due out on August 7 via Rude Records. “We chose them because this is the music that we grew up on” continues Jones. “These are the artists that made us want to pick up drum sticks, plug in a Jazzmaster, and make a fucking racket with our best friends until the neighborhood shut us down.  And that tenet [Read More]

State Champs release new single ’10 AM’

July 22, 2020

New York pop-rockers State Champs have dropped a brand new single today. “10 AM” highlights the high-energy band’s ability to slow it down a bit with frontman Derek DiScanio sharing: “10 AM might be the most experimental song we’ve written and recorded”. He continues by saying “However, it stemmed from a simple idea to have a mellow, acoustic, feel-good vibe, and mix it with lyrical frustration about questioning your worth in a relationship and unrequited love. We were able to bring in some unique electronic elements in post-production to top everything off and we’re excited to see what everyone thinks of the final product”. Fans can check out “10 AM” today! “10 AM” joins “Criminal (Acoustic)” and “Crying Out Loud” from the forthcoming EP “State Champs Unplugged”, due out August 14, 2020 via Pure Noise Records. “State Champs Unplugged”, dropping in time for the band’s 10-year anniversary, is much more than a set of stripped-down reimagined bangers. Instead, the EP offers up four brand new tracks crafted specifically for this setting, plus a surprising reworking [Read More]
