I am excited to tell you about Christian Martucci’s new solo project. I have my IPod filled with great songs from Christian’s past and they are some of my favorite songs. From “Nowhere Ride” by The Chelsea Smiles to “Last Fucking Hope” by Black President and to “Shine”, “Downsider” and “Lights Out” from “Thousand Watt Stare“. Christian is just purely awesome on guitar and vocals. He has such a great unique sound that just draws you in and energizes you. In my previous post from Thousand Watt Stare I described his voice as “Ramones with a touch of Johnny Rotten and a dash of Elvis Costello which is an incredible combination.”   He is like liquid adrenaline running through your veins.

Well, Christian is currently getting ready to release his new EP titled, “Man Without a Name”. If you are lucky enough to be in the Los Angeles area you can go to their album release which is scheduled for January 11th, 2013 at one of my favorite old stomping grounds, The Viper Room.  The show will also include “Future Villains” and “The Lonely Drunks Club Band”.  This is a show that is going to be one of your favorites of 2013!

Joining Christian is Carl Raether on bass and Zak St. John on drums. When you listen to them, their chemistry shines through and I would love to catch them live.  After the album release, you have a couple more chances to catch them live in Seattle, Oregon and Northern California. Make sure to check out Christian’s website to keep up to date on future tour dates.

I can’t pinpoint his style of music, it has bits and pieces of his past but blended together create this one of a kind sound. You get the feel of old school punk dipped in rock and energized with some heavier guitars and rippin guitar solos.  Christian has been quoted, “If a ‘scene’ doesn’t exist for the type of music you play, just make your own.” I truly think that is the perfectly said since he just brings everything of himself into this and Christian always delivers a 100%! It is amazing work and I can’t wait to share it with you all.

I hope you get to listen to his work and make sure to follow him on his social network sites so you can know firsthand where and when he will be playing a show near you. He is not to be missed!

Enjoy, Marisol
