April 1, 2021

I know we have all been itching to get to a live concert and it does seem that there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel.  With many places starting to plan for the return of live music and festivals, we wanted to get you in the mood by sharing 30 live concert videos in 30 days. Starting today with one of our favorite bands, Dirty Honey as they perform their latest single, Tied Up. This was performed at one of the last shows held at Slim’s in San Francisco before closing permanently. It was February 25, 2020 and we didn’t know what was about to hit us in the music world. It was also our last live concert we were at and covered. This show was filled with so much energy and good vibes that it definitely had given us what we needed to make it through the live music drought. We will be featuring the videos on Youtube and IGTV on our Instagram Page. Check out their performance here: We [Read More]

Maggie Rogers; Beauty and Light personified, delivers spellbinding performance at Greek Theater

September 24, 2019

Last Friday evening at the Greek Theater in Berkeley was the place to be.  The majestic setting of the Greek Theater was the perfect backdrop for the beauty and dazzling performance by Maggie Rogers. We first saw Maggie Rogers perform at Outside Lands just two years ago and we knew she would be well on her way to the top. Selling out the Greek Theater, no problem for her. There is no stopping the effervescent and mesmerizing Maggie Rogers. Show after show, she exceeds our expectations and delivers spot on spellbinding performances. Her vocals captivated the audience and you could feel a positive energy race through the crowd. If I could compare it to anything, it would be to that one moment in How The Grinch Stole Christmas – that the Grinch’s small heart grew three sizes that day.  At a Maggie Rogers concert, you can’t help but have your heart grow. You feel a positive energy that grabs a hold of you and the songs become the life line to your soul.  From the first song to the [Read More]

Top Live Performance of 2018 goes to Greta Van Fleet

January 1, 2019

As we enter the new year, it is time to look back at all the amazing musicians we saw in 2018.  From intimate performances to arena concerts, to festivals and more, great live music was everywhere. Check out our list of the Top Live Performances of 2018 for Music Junkie Press! Topping our list is none other than Greta Van Fleet, who are like a pair of shock paddles resuscitating the life of Rock n Roll. We were fortunate to catch four of their California shows in 2018. Within the last decade,  we have seen many bands deliver some good blips on the heartline of the rock and roll, but none as huge as the spike that Greta Van Fleet is making.  They are bringing a full on resuscitation to ROCK ‘N ROLL so get ready, hang on and enjoy the ride. The first show we saw this year was at the John Anson Ford Amphitheater: “The crowd grew to capacity as Greta Van Fleet were to take the stage. The excitement raced through the crowd as the lights dimmed [Read More]

Caliban, Lionheart and Bad Omens live

December 12, 2018

Backstage Munich, Dec. 6th, 2018   Thursday night, 6.30 pm was the announced time for doors to open. Not too many people were queuing outside the Backstage Werk in Munich. The venue was still more than half empty, the fate of many opening bands. With Caliban and Lionheart there were two experienced bands on stage, that drew most of the people to this show. Bad Omens didn’t necessarily fit the bill, which made it hard for them to make a real connection with the audience. Songs like ‘Glass Houses’, ‘Careful What You Wish For’ and ‘Exit Wounds’ do have potential and there were people in the crowd that knew the band and sang along, but that night it wasn’t enough to really ‘heat up’ the audience. By the time Lionheart entered the stage, everyone had made it to [Read More]
