Falling in Reverse delivers another great show in San Francisco

February 24, 2014

They did it again! Falling In Reverse  put on another great show on their stop in San Francisco for the Bury the Hatchet tour. Even though we were the second to the last stop of the tour, we were treated to them performing at 150% and their non stop energy set.  I have been to many opening sets for tours as well as closing and it does seem that some bands really trail off when they are down to the last couple days. Almost as if they can taste the freedom and joys of sleeping in their own beds, long showers and days that have yet to be planned.  Well for the boys in Falling in Reverse, they really do show that performing is when they feel most at home because they really come on just as strong as their first show in Los Angeles.  They treated the crowd to an adrenaline filled set where the nearly sold out audience sang along to every word.  It was a great set and Jacky Vincent and Ron [Read More]

The NAMM-Over Begins

January 27, 2014

Well, here we are on the Monday after NAMM 2014. What a great week it was for Musicians. The trade industry convention, NAMM brought in an estimated 100,000 to the Anaheim Convention where dealers, musicians and gear heads could check out the latest and greatest in the music technology and products. Music Junkie Press was there and it was a wild week. We just got back home tonight and this week will be putting together all of our NAMM coverage, highlights, concert reviews, photographs, and much more. From shows at the Whisky a-Go-Go in Hollywood, to Stevie Wonder jamming out some tunes on a show visitor’s harmonica, to interviewing all kinds of bands; Switchblade Serenade, Farewell My Love, Harlot, Bloody Mary, Emperors and Elephants, Tempting Fate and so many more.  We have a lot to go through but we will have our first batch of write-ups coming to you tomorrow, so stay tuned!! If you were at NAMM, send us your highlights, we just might feature it in our NAMM 2014spotlight. Get Infected with 12 Stones!

August 24, 2012

Earlier this past week, I went to see 12 Stones perform at the historical Phoenix Theater in Petaluma, Ca. This theater was first opened in 1905 and held historical acts such as Harry Houdini and Lily Langtree. Over the years it has housed acts such as Metallica, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Ramones, Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins and so much more. The current owner Tom Gaffey has continued to keep it open as an all-ages music venue and I applaud him as to how he has gone through great lengths to keep music alive in our area. So I was excited to see 12 Stones would be playing there and they were even bringing along their touring band, Concordia which I had just been happily introduced to earlier in the month after hearing them open up for Smile Empty Soul.  In addition, three great local bands were added to the opening lineup. First up, we had Mirrors which delivered a punk rock sound and uses their music as a platform to discuss how the pornography industry [Read More]

Adler’s Appetite has satisfied my appetite for ROCK!!!

July 4, 2011

So yes you all know I am hungry!! I have been hungry for some awesome replay of the 80’s ROCK!! Not just imitation rock or glam pate, I have been searching for my 80’s fix for quite a while now. Well I GOT IT and I GOT IT GOOD!! My son Ryan begged me months ago to buy tickets to see Adler’s Appetite as they were playing in San Francisco on July 1, 2011. It wasn’t hard to convince me since I have always loved Guns n Roses and have watched Steven Adler on Celebrity Rehab and read his book. For those of you that know me well, I had a major 2nd stroke four years ago that I took some time to recover from. But whatever the causes, I share a special bond with a fellow stroke survivor, I have been rooting for Steven for some time now! Well, I went to San Francisco the other night with my friend Laura Sixx, husband Stephen and son Ryan. We got there and found out it [Read More]
